Should Definitely Have Trigger Warnings
•••(Please see updated edit below)•••***Trigger Warnings***I’m only 1/2,way through this book and although the story is compelling, I had to stop & take a break, so I’m leaving a review now so that others who are considering this book are made aware that there are key plot points that should’ve come with trigger warnings in the descriptiion, especially since this was published in late February of 2020. I’m surprised there wasn’t any mention of triggers & it caught me off guard as the “free sample” didn’t really allude to what the sensitive themes were. Anyway, hopefully the author/publisher/Amazon will correct that oversight so readers aren’t caught off guard like I was.Edit:It’s very difficult to review this book without spoilers, but I’ll do my best: I finished this book & had to downgrade my rating. This book should DEFINITELY 100% have trigger warnings. Without giving away any spoilers, all I can say is that the sensitive theme became virtually the only plot point throughout the second half of this book. As the chapter’s went on, every other plot point fell by the wayside. The reason I downgraded from 4 stars to 3 however, is because of the final chapter. It dealt with the main characters addressing this sensitive theme in absolutely the wrong way. That really disappointed me. I won’t be reading any further in the series (follow up books are yet to be published as of August 2020) and I really hope the publisher or author rectifies the warning lable situation, especially as this book falls into the space between The YA and The New Adult genres.

Good start to the series
Apryl Baker continues to expand her PNR world by taking us to West Virginia where at Appalachia University the shifters have ruled for many many years. We briefly heard about Cole Walker and his wolfpack family in the Bloodlines series. Along with Cole we also learn about Clementine Townes who has just transferred to the university but is unaware of her heritage of being from a wolf shifter father and a fae mother. The past year of her life has been painful after losing both her father and half sister in the same night along with a horrific thing that happened on the UCLA campus while she was attending. She is hoping for a fresh start but she gets way more than she ever bargained for with leaning she is Cole's mate, the origins of her bloodline and that that past she was running from is closer than she thinks.Good start to the series and soo much more story that needs to be told. Looking forward the next book.

She did it again.
Apryl Baker has done it once again. She deawn me into her writing and the world she has created. My heart goes out to Clem and to Cole, they have such wonderfully built character's that build such emotions in the reader. I could feel what they felt, that was so easy to do with the story development and with the characters. Sadly its a cliff hanger and now was wait with much anticipation for the next book. This book will help with the two story lines that are merging together at the moment. To get to have a inside look at the characters past who make them what they are in the hear and now. I would highly recommend reading Apryl Baker and all her wondeful writing. My poor heart now awaits what the future will hold for those in Initiation.

Easy yet exciting reading
Thorougly enjoyed the ease with which the story held interest, a touch of the supernatural yet exploring the emotional trauma of of an important realities today's college life. It also was a satifying finish with promise of more excitement for the future.

Great start to a new series
I love reading books written by Apryl. This is a great start told in dual POV of the main characters. I'm interested to see how this story will pan out. Can't wait for the next book.

Another series I have to wait on.
There was one place where the transition didn't seem to flow quite right. I'll have to read again to see if it makes more sense at that point. I will be buying book two when I can.
