This classical music collection is great. It is the best of the best. I've enjoyed it very much. If you want a short course in great classical music, this is your milieu. Love it.

Ah..nothing like spending a quiet Saturday evening listening to this library.

Don't misinterpret my one star. This music is great, except for the 20th-century pieces. But, given 400 years of music to choose from, the editors show a tremendous preference for the bombastic. Somebody must have told them that it's good practice to alternate the modern with the baroque, and bombastic with gentle, pastoral music, to heighten the contrast. Maybe that's good for a record containing songs by a single band, but I don't want to hear "Greensleeves" next to the overture from Candide, or Franck's "Oh, Lord Most Holy" in between Carmina Burana and Wagner.The balance is also off-kilter; we get one piece from Beethoven, but 8 from Tschaikovsky.If you love getting up to change the volume on your CD player, and you want to hear a lot of really loud, cymbal-ridden concert music from several centuries all scrambled together with calm pastoral music, maybe you'll like this. As for me, the only way to listen to this CD set is to rip all the tracks onto my computer, then re-order them and burn them onto new CDs. Far easier to buy some other collection that is already organized in some sane way.
