Poor build quality and customer service

Split on the side of the shoe after 120ks, perhaps at 90kg I am a bit heavier than normal runners for a size 11 shoe, but really disappointed with customer service from Hoka. Contacted them and they said as I was a week or so over 12-months and the retailer wouldn't help me they wouldn't either.Disappointing as they could have engaged, explained I should try a wide fitting and tried to sway me to return with a voucher to buy via their website.
