Thermos, Mermaid Soft Lunch Kit, 9.5 x 3.75 x 7.5inch

My son is in 4th grade and we were looking for a lunch bag that is attractive. That’s when I saw thermos soft lunch kit at Amazon. It was reasonably priced at 7.99, so we decided to try it out for this year. We took some time to select a theme as it comes with 26 options to fulfill different interests. It has varieties for boys (e.g. Despicable Me, McQueen car, Captain America, Superman etc.) as well as girls ( e.g. Barbie, Elena Avalor, Clone wars, etc.). Finally, I ended up choosing despicable me as my son likes those characters a lot.This lunch kit is simply a bag (or a cover or a sack) that has a soft shell with a silver interior and will help keep cold food cool. It must be noted that we need to buy lunch box, food containers, ice packs and water bottles separately, as per need. The bag comes with one big open space of size ** 3.5 x 9.5 x 7.5 inches ** and we can use the space as we want. The bag has only 1 zipper pull and a padded carrying handle, so it’s easy for kids to hold it. The lunch bag weighs 4 ounces (0.25 pounds), so it’s not heavy for kids. There is no metal in this bag, so accidental injuries to kids is unlikely to happen. Overall, the bag is sturdy and ** AWESOME **.Anything a child might eat in a lunch will fit in it. Standard foods like wrapped sandwiches, bags of chips, candy bars, pudding, jello containers, fruit, vegetables, crackers etc. are some of the options to fit into this box. Small plastic containers with lids would fit in it as well. When you buy the lunch box or water bottle, please make sure that it’s within the dimensions ** 3.5 x 9.5 x 7.5 inches ** . Standard water bottles doesn’t fit in this lunch bag as they are not very deep.From our experience, we don’t think that food can be kept hot for a long time in it. It is not dishwasher friendly, but it’s easy to clean with a damp cloth. Only improvement area that I can think of is providing an option to customers to choose their own pictures which can be printed on the bag. It would provide even more choices to customers than its available today.I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a theme based lunch bag that provides spacious single compartment open area and make kids interested in taking lunch to school and comeback in style.Note: Please press the helpful button if my review was useful to you.

Probably the most important thing to know about this Scooby-Doo lunchbox (that you can't see from the picture) is that the zipper to open it is in the back. In other words, you don't open up the whole wide side of the van like you would with a similar lunch box, only the rear of the van (where the taillights would be) opens up. So you have a tall, narrow opening in which to put the food items in and out. So you if have a wide container into which you put something messy like a salad or something you are going to have to put it on its side. This probably isn't a problem for most people but I figure it's worth noting. It does NOT come with a thermos, even though it is a Thermos (tm) brand lunchbox.The graphics are excellent. Very bright and appealing. The handle is sturdily attached. Good quality.

Perfect size for me to carry to work when carrying a smaller lunch and everyone loves it that use to watch it as a kid!
