How many chains and bracelets can it hold?

I can easily place 10-12, with additional bracelets hanging from the small tree branches below. Love this holder!

Does the base hold anything like earrings?

This isn't the earing tree I ordered. Doesn't look like the base would hold anything. The one I ordered had a ruffled bottom that was a tray to hold jewelry.

What is this constructed from (owl version) - is it metal or plastic? Weighty or flimsy?

It is metal and a bit weighty. It is two pieces, the base and the tree. I had a problem keeping the base tightly screwed on but a little glue fixed the problem. It isn’t tall enough for most of my necklaces. Top cross branch measures about 8 1/2”. Hope this helps.
