No..no zipper, the larger bags has zippers

How much weight can it handle?

I'm not sure...if, for instance you put 3 or 4 fireplace logs in it should be no problem.. i wouldnt load it up with weights however. These are sturdy bags. I used them.when I was packing up my studio.

Are these bags waterproof?

Hmmmmm.... not sure. Are blue tarps water proof? They are made out of tarp material. We use them for everything from moving college kids in and out, holding picnic stuff, carrying beach towels and toys... very useful and sturdy.

Are these mildew dust bug and insect proof

I have found them to be dust proof, bug proof and mildew proof.
