Good Magnification
Does a good job of magnifying print. Only drawback is that lighting needs to be almost directly overhead. If light comes from the side, then the housing shades what you are looking at. If you won't have good light, then get the lighted version of this.

The product is good. But be aware that their description is wrong. There are no L.E.D.s and there is slight distortion at the end of the oval lens. It is pure false advertising. I would otherwise have given a five star review.

TILT! Received not as advertised!
The ad says: "The super bright LED lights fully illuminate the viewing area for easy visual recognition?"BUT THIS HAS NO LEDS, and no place for them or their batteries, wires, switch. It's a high quality lens with a holder as shown in the picture. The lens is of course clear, the plastic holder is opaque plastic. There are no LEDs, and really no room for the batteries they'd require. Amazingly I asked ahead what type of batteries it took before purchasing not wanting button-type batteries, and the answer I received was assuring in that standard cylindrical batteries are required. Having one of these in my hands, the way it's made, I CAN'T even envision where they'd mount the lighting, wires or batteries. First they'd be unsightly in the semi-see, thru plastic. Second they'd likely block some of the field of view.I'd would recommend this for any use where ambient lighting is adequate, but if you need a magnifier with a light-source this is not your item. The retail carton it came in makes no mention/claims of LEDs, lighting, or batteries, so the carton is consistent with what's inside. I think whoever prepared the Amazon ad was not acquainted with the actual product. Again, a fine piece of optics as long as you don't need built-in lighting and if it costs this much with the supposed lighting, then when they fix the ad the price should drop for not having light come with it. Needless to say "batteries not included."

I think this works better than the dome paperweights. It's the perfect size for viewing business cards. Still wish it had a little wider viewing area, but I like the convenient size and light weight of this
