is first alert p1210e compatible with p1210?

The p1210e is compatible with the p1210 only to the extent that the mounting holes align with those of the p1210. The entire unit including the base must be removed from the wall but the same mounting screws can then be used to mount the new unit

how do you replace the battery? do you have to buy a new cover where the battery sits?

My detector was bought in October 2021 and replace with old one. Now the battery indicates that I need a new one. What happened to the ten year battery. ??????
