Grannick'sCare Dogs Bitter Apple No Chew Spray 8oz

My dog had licked her paws to the point of creating a sore. Once the sore had healed (because you don't want to spray this on an open wound) it has worked well to keep her from licking again. (Doesn't work on all dogs or animals though. I had one that liked the taste. . . fortunately this one doesn't.)

My family adopted a puppy who — at the time I find myself needing this product is about 9 months old — and she has never chewed on anything but her toys, and sticks in the yard...*Until*, that is, she had to be left home alone (except for another, older, dog) for approximately an hour and a half one day. We have a multiperson home so she has very seldom been alone, but she had tolerated it well previously. This time she decided to absolutely shred the crown molding around the picture windows in our living room, to the tune of roughly four feet of wood chewed off of the wall and turned into jelly bean sized pieces.Unfortunately, the thing that necessitated us leaving the house all at once will not resolved for the foreseeable future, and her action was definitely acting out from anxiety, so there's no point in trying to catch her doing it while home to modify her behavior. I remembered roughly twenty years ago when 1) my sister had a pet rabbit that chewed through electric cords, and 2) we rescued a dog who wanted to chew through chair legs, and my parents' solution then (along with training).The original and best sour apple spray! I ordered a bottle and thoroughly coated what remained of the moulding around the window, as well as a few other things like chair legs and table edges that I was concerned she might turn to. Despite us leaving the period for the same length every day for a month — as well as a few days where we were gone more than 6 hours due to events beyond our control — there has been no more indoor wood chewing.Now if only I had thought to spray the pillowcase od the body pillow she eviscerated and whose filling she spread across the house like a layer of snow, yesterday. :PThe product worked great to stop chewing immediately, and literally cannot complain about anything, not even the awful taste *I* couldn't get out of my mouth for a good hour when I accidentally aspirated some of the spray during my frenzy to coat all the puppy-unsafe wood as soon as the bottle arrived.5 stars absolutely well earned, I recommend this to anyone with an animal that chews, and will not hesitate to buy it again myself.

The only reason why I gave this 4 out of 5 stars is this. The spray works great on all surfaces and objects. The smell leaves a sour bitter scent to keep you pup away from something. Its a great "bandage" for something but it doesn't take care of the "root of the problem". All in all, I was surprised how well the spray works. A little bit goes a long way. Keep that in mind who ever buys it.

My dog likes to fight the vacuum and my steamer. They are her number one ops in the house and she will not let me clean in peace if I am using either of them.When she isn't looking I spray the item before I put it to use. I don't want her to know that I'm doing something to change the taste of the vacuum. I just want her to think it taste like that so she leaves it alone whenever I use it. So far so good. One chomp on it and she starts making a very adorable but disgusted face. She hates the taste of it. And she leave's it alone after that.So far so good. I hope to eventually train her out of being so reactive but this is a good deterrent while we work on that. As far as the smell, it just smells like alcohol to me.

Didn’t end up working for my cat. My cat sucks on her tail. I sprayed and even dipped the end of her tail in this and she just sucked it off

I have a shiba puppy that destroys everything. After 3 days of using the spray, I trust him to roam freely in the apartment while I work. So far so good.

Love this product. Keeps my dog from barking excessively also. He does not like the smell or taste.

Effective, but you must spray every day, which is a pain. On the plus side, it does not stain leather couches, wooden furniture, or fabric. It works, my dog does not chew if used daily. But forget and there goes the couch! I like that it is natural ingredients.
