Good chipset, works perfectly on Linux, inside ports are the USP, USB-C and large number of ports are a bonus
Works perfectly with Linux (Ubuntu 16.04, custom kernel 4.9.5)The package comes with SATA power extender and Molex --> SATA power cable. I use this with a USB3.0 Motherboard Connector 19 Pin Header Connector to 2 USB3.0 Port Adapter Card (ASIN B01EUIGDR6 also bought on Amazon) that allows me to plug in my boot USB drive on the INSIDE of my server chassis.

Works great in Windows, Linux. DOES NOT work with Mac OS X.
Does not work for Mac Pro 5,1 or 1,1. It works in Windows but not OS X. There are similar product that work in Mac Pro + OS X. The seller posted it works in OS X, but it does not. Couldn't have been easier to return, gave UPS carrier the box unpacked, then prompt refund followed.

Horsepower for an old machine!
Folks, its about time the computer industry started selling products that will allow us hard working people to keep our old computers running at a comparable rate with the newer machines. I've got an old Compaq that is 12 years old and came with XP on it. I use it in my shop and have upgraded to a SSD with Win 10 and it does what I need it to do. Then I found this board. Wow! Its like dropping a Chevy LS motor into a Model A! Well, maybe not that much excitement but it sure put new life into an old machine. USB 3.0 is the way to go, So many things are 3.0 these days and if you're not ready to retire that old computer, drop one of these in there and feel the horsepower again! All you need is one PCI E slot. Thats all my old machine has. I cant tell you exact speeds but I have noticed a lot faster transfer rate and the ability to do more with what I have. Its easy to install and seems to be well built. Folks, You cant go wrong with horsepower and this lil card gives ya just that.

Fundamentally broken
I've tried everything I can to make this work. And I've had zero luck.I'm not doing anything particularly difficult -- just trying to add some USB 3.0 ports to an older computer that doesn't have any. But I run into a couple different problems:1. I can't get it to work reliably with any external hard drive, whether it be bus powered or not. The device will show up initially, but then after doing any reading or writing for a couple minutes the device goes offline and the data files are corrupted.2. Similar results with SD cards externally, though I can occasionally read from a card alright at a reduced speed.3. Any time I try to use a USB device or flash memory card in an internal reader connected to the internal port of this card, everything attached to that port disconnects and won't reappear until I completely power down the computer and turn it back on.I've tried all four of the PCIe ports in my computer, which uses and Intel board and Intel i7 CPU, so we shouldn't have any weirdness there. All other devices I've used in the PCIe slots work just fine. I've also tried any number of combinations of USB cables, card readers, etc. all with identical results.I've tried returning and replacing the card with the same results. I've also tried a couple cards from other manufacturers that use the same chipset as this one, again with the same results.Bottom line is, I think there is a fundamental problem with the design of the chip that these cards use. It's got some issues.

Worked as expected.
I've had this for several years now and no malfunctions yet. I use it almost everyday on my PC.

Must also mention that the build and finish of this card is excellent..
This card replaces another brand (..also well rated..) card on my old i7-860 rig where the usb ports were irritatingly unstable and unreliable ... constantly cutting in and out. do not know if root cause was a faulty card, but so far I've not encountered any such issues (..or others, for that matter ..) with this Malliya.Must also mention that the build and finish of this card is excellent ... so much so that I've chosen Mailiya over other brands when picking a USB 3.1 Type C card for my latest Z170A rig I'm currently building.Mailiya pricing is very reasonable (frequently lower than comparables) but like I said above, the build and finish looks equally good if not superior. Performance, in my limited experience so far is, so far so good.

Works, but with Quirks
So the installation was quite easy. Fortunately, the SATA cable was JUST long enough to reach a power source in my desktop PC and it went into the case without much of a problem. I haven't FULLY put it through its paces, but it seemed to work just fine out of the box. The additional USB port header for front panel USB ports came in handy because my motherboard's header didn't seem to be working, so this restored functionality. So I'd love this thing and give it 5 stars, but for some bizarre reason, every once in awhile something plugged into the card will randomly disconnect and immediately reconnect. I've only got a keyboard mouse combo plugged in right now, but it's worrying. That makes me hesitate to plug in something like a Hard Drive. Otherwise, it does what I need it to with minimal fuss.

Board is fine and works as advertised
Board is fine and works as advertised.Forget the power adaptor cables though and use one from your PSU as these are the worst molex connectors I have ever seen, and I've bought a fair bit of cheap PC tat over the years. The crimping failed after one insertion; no solder or tinning.
