Do we know if it can be mounted on the back instead of in the lid?

I mounted to the top because I thought if I did not like it it would be easy to remove and my coffee would not allow a rear mount just a side one. Also the top is easier to replace. With all the adjustment in the unit I don't see why not. I also bough the extra connectors and put a shut-off near the tee for the refig and one right behind the coffee pot. We have been using it for about three weeks and it is one of the BEST GADGETS it every got.

Anyone used w/ k-duo plus?

We have a K-duo with a rear mounted water reservoir that fits the CMK01 easily. It appears from photos some of the K-duo plus have side mounted. Others rear mounted. Regardless, if either the width or length of the reservoir is less than 6" the auto-fill device likely won't have room to operate. It might need even more space if the reservoir lid is curved where the inlet fitting is mounted. Looks like depth won't be an issue. Hope that helps.

Has anyone successfully used this kit with a Jura E8? I'm interested in trying it, but a little nervous given it requires drilling a hole.

Float is about 1-3/4" with ajustable angle . you can measure your water resevior firstly. if big enough, you can try. :) Drill a hole is very easy by using the included step drill bit.
