I have a regular menu at home of about 45 custom coffee beverages I make for my family and myself and out of all the bases I’ve tried this one has the richest classic taste that bring out the best in any custom coffee drink, iced or hot! Works great for all those classic drinks and ones you invent yourself! Save yourself time and money and add in convenience making those lattes and macchiatos yourself instead of paying those coffee shop prices! Making my own drinks at home ends up being 1 dollar in materials vs paying $8 plus! Plus you can let your creativity shine and make your whole family happy! Creating coffees really helped my mental health too. I just can’t say enough about these pods.

Surprised to see that the reviews (at least on my screen) under the coffee I bought are for a variety of Starbucks flavours. This review is for the Dark Roast Caffe Verona k-cups.So, first time with Verona dark roast. Bought because the box said it had flavours/notes of dark Cocoa and caramelized sugar. I have had a few of these now and here is my take.First, I use the 10 oz setting on my machine. This subdues the flavour somewhat due to running more water though than the standard cup size of 8 oz (yes, no matter how much manufacturers are now saying that 6 ounces is the "new" cup size, 8 is still and always will be a cup size to me). I also put a decent splash of non-fat milk in and a couple of sweeteners. Sacrilege I know, but gives you context. Also keep in mind that this is subjective to my tastes, but hope it helps others get a feel for what to expect.I enjoy this coffee. I do not like coffees that are "bright", "notes of berry or citrus", acidic or weak for want of a better word. I like a more robust, stronger coffee flavour that isn't bitter to me in my standard configuration. More notes of caramel and/or chocolate are more my taste. Sort of sweeter, dark and rich without harshness. Context also, budget minded I will drink Costco Bold. My other current favourite is Starbucks dark French roast which I find less harsh than the Costco Bold, but of course, not as inexpensive. I have a couple of Lavazzas that I'm trying currently too (Perfectto and Gran Selezione).Might be power of suggestion on the Verona, but I can see the dark cocoa and caramelized sugar description. I get the cocoa from the mouth feel while drinking. Take the time to swirl the coffee around and I get the dark chocolate cocoa type flavour. I don't find the coffee harsh, bright, but rather it is smoother with a nice mouth feel that allows the flavour to come thru. The caramelized sugar I get more from the after taste left on the tongue between drinks. Not unpleasant or acidic. Almost like a toffee aftertaste maybe. The coffee has a rich, deeper flavour and I don't get any of that high note citrus type flavours that I absolutely loathe.Just had the last swig of this coffee about 15 minutes ago and I'm not left with that nasty bitter left over taste as some coffees have. The ones where you feel like you have horrible bad coffee breath or you need something to get rid of the taste. Still pleasant.Cost wise, never going to be cheap compared to budget options, but if you shop around on Amazon you can find okay pricing per k-cup.I'm actually in a toss up on which I like better, the Bux French roast dark or this. I have a feeling I'll keep a stock of both.Hopefully my description will be of some help for those searching for a certain flavour profile.All the best!

This is good coffee, although Im not an expert in types of coffee. I bought this because one of my favorite coffee is caramel macchiato so I asked a Batista what coffee the used. I love the smell (I’m a coffee lover) would I drink “flat”? No, that would taste “watery” to my and “light”, since I’m used to Cuban coffee. Or maybe it’s just my coffee maker. Overall it’s good and a good option for recipes.

The Starbucks Sumatra k cups was good flavor. The French Roast on the other hand, was awful! It tasted kind of like chemical I guess. Did not taste like coffee at all. Did not taste like Starbucks of any kind. Probably won’t buy Starbucks k cups again from Amazon. I had a few boxes that were hit and miss for quality and flavor.

Bought for my step dad, the strong flavor allows him to dilute it to the strength he desires that day. I personally LOVE the strong flavor and aroma!I like to let it get cold and add flavoring and ice - it keeps it flavor.

Best bang for your buck!

My favorite brand and flavor of all coffees. This dark roast is amazing and consistently delicious. I only drink black coffee with no sweetener or other additives. Rich flavor.

Always a consistent flavor. Deep roasted and full of flavor. Try it with the “strong” brew button and it’s even better! And it goes on sale often so wait for it!

I actually prefer this to the French Roast. Great coffee!

I used to throw out a half pot of coffee to make a fresh cup. Now I have a fresh cup in a few minutes.
