A lot harsher in hindsight
I'm a big fan of Keith RA DeCandio but this book is kind of interesting in retrospect because so much of it depends on the lore established in Warcraft 3 that has since been contradicted by World of Warcraft. Basically, it's a book about how the Horde and Alliance need to put down their ancestral hatred as well as embrace peace through the example of Theramore as run by Jaina Proudmoore. Given we know that Theremore will eventually be destroyed by Garrosh Hellscream, this makes the books events far darker as well as tragic. It's an entertaining and interesting book even if it's a bit preachy with its central thesis. The fact that we know it ends tragically moves it up from a 3.5 to a 4, though, IMHO. I also strongly prefer "Saint Jaina Proudmoore" to the vengeance crazed one from later books, though.

GREAT QUALITY
the book is printed very well and has a good quality.it was delivered with delay as it was sent by ARAMEX which is a terrible shipping company.otherwise, the story is a very important part of the lore so I recommend it to WOW fans as well as fantasy readersoverall satisfied with the product

It's actually not that bad.
Well, after reading multiple 1-star critics I was expecting the worst of the worst, but for the sake of Lore I had to read it...I'ts actually not that bad. In fact, I'd even dare say it's good.True, the author does, repeatedly and insistantly, bring his own thoughts (regarding womens place in society) and place them on our beloved characters as if they were their own, which is a huge flaw a writer should know about. It does become tiresome to hear how women have to work harder and men are mostly the "evil" ones, specially when the thoughts are the author's and not the character's.Leaving the one big flaw aside, the story is actually good and characters are interesting. Several situations and interactions, such as tavern chat, or a "philosophical" discussion regarding fog, by a captain ship and one of his crew, get to be quite interesting. There are worthy humans, orcs, and even goblins, here and there.I really enjoyed the plot and it's characters.

It was a nice "side story"
It was a nice "side story"; it really highlights the relationship between Thrall and Jaina in which many people don't quite understand. There was also a nice appearance from other characters of lore as well as the burning legion (and there is some insight in the Trisfalens, which is nice if you're interested in the guardians of Azeroth). You do not have to have a strong background in Warcraft lore to enjoy this background. Many of the places and creatures in the book are those that can be found in WoW, which gives a nice background and understanding of where things are happening.

Totally Awesome!!
This book was great. It was the first World of Warcraft novel that I've read, but it's very rare that I find a novel that catches my attention so much that I can read it all in under 24 hours. In fact, this book took about only 12 hours to read in total and I did it all on the same day no less. I would highly recommend this book to anybody interested in the lore of Azeroth and the Warcraft world.
