AMAZING, and fits SkyMaster 25x100's
Very impressed with the quality of workmanship and materials used. This is one really sturdy and well made tripod. My Skymaster 25x100 binoculars mount very easily and without any adapter required. I read another review that stated my binoculars were not compatible with this tripod. Well, that reviewer must be selling another brand because he is giving totally wrong information. This tripod fits Orion & SkyMaster binoculars, but for other brands that may not readily attach, any adapter that may be needed is included so all will work easily. This is NOT a tripod that you would want to attempt to strap to your backpack and hike to some scenic overlook to use. It is called "Monster" for a reason. I use this when I can back my car up to the place I want to use it. For stargazing I must get out of the city to see well. This is costly, but in my opinion, it is money well spent.NOTE: The 16" extension, which is pretty much required to use this great tripod standing up, cost a lot more as an add on option. That is just wrong! The cost of this tripod should definitely include the extension piece since that would make it complete.

A great heavy duty mount for your optics.
Incredibly strong construction and excellent workmanship throughout. It’s a really good mount for your telescope and/or binoculars. The balance bar makes it gravity free and infinite adjustments allows any viewing angle. The only small drawback is it’s weight. It’s sturdy as all get out, and that means heavy materials. If that’s an issue for you, look into it. It’s very manageable, and built to last!I called Customer service a couple of times and they are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. If you can afford it, the quality is visible and you can feel it when you touch it.

outstanding build quality
I have to echo the other positive reviews - was a bit apprehensive given the cost of this tripod, but it is built like a watch, albeit a very big and heavy watch. Parts fit together seamlessly, the stainless steel and black crinkle finishes are seamless, and the action is smooth and steady. Very will engineered and fabricated.I did also purchase the optional height extension piece - absolutely necessary if you're going to be using your binculars while standing - is a bit of a gripe to have to pay an additional $100, but it is also quite well finished.No question that this is a luxury, but it is built to luxury specifications.

Arrived missing required parts an it has machining issue
I’m very disappointed to spend so much on a product to receive missing parts and has a machining issue.There is a threaded pole which runs from the bottom of the tripod which screws up into the base of the mount. The threads exceed the depth of the threads machined in the base. The result is that the mount has about .25” gap causing the mount to sit cocked off the tripod. I had to add washers to shim and removed the slick so it tightens up completely. It also arrived missing the locking knob that is used to lock the base from turning once you have positioned the mount/boom to the desired azimuth. It also arrived missing the knob on the other end of the mound used to lock down the L-bracket. A call to tech support was pleasant and I was told the missing parts would be shipped to me. I’m still waiting on the confirmation email that the order for the knobs was processed, so I’m left wondering if the replacement knobs will actually be shipped.Overall the mount and tripod are really heavy and I’m sure will provide the utmost stability for my observation viewing sessions.

Very skookum
This P-mount is very solidly built and smooth. Handles my Celestron 25x100 binos like they’re levitating. Dampens any oscillations within 2-3 cycles. If you’re going to use with the 25x100s you also will need the spacer since the mount that comes with the binoculars is not tall enough and they will be “cockeyed” on the L bracket.If you don’t want to build your own parallelogram mount, this is the one to get.

lawnchair astronomy++
This allows me to lay lazy in lawnchair and have heavy astronomy binoculars handy and secure. I also use it for a coronado pst, sitting, standing or on bar stool (I prefer). I can finally get steady images of birds and effortlessly search for whales for extended periods of time. I can easily adjust position of optics to share views with people short and/or tall. General public can bump it in an earthquake, and it won't topple. Heh. It's pricey for me, but worth it.

Great if you’re under 5’7”
We love this but it’s not tall enough when fully extended. Also, the mount is not compatible with the 20x100 Celestron Binoculars.

Love this
I love this system! I use this with a pair of 40x 100 binoculars on my lanai in Maui overlooking hundreds of square miles of ocean with this system I can pan and locate whales miles away, then give the binoculars to someone else at a different height and they do not have to readjust. With my old tripod and ball head I would have to set the location to compensate when I let go for the sag that the weight of the binoculars would create
