STANLEY 0-30-686 Tylon Tape, 3m/10ft

I bought two of these. On for the shop and another to use teaching a college welding class. It's a great value, easy to use and read. It's durable in a large shop environment and the measurement accuracy is spot on. I recommend this.

I use fatmax only tried other brands and they just don't stand out like these. I used 35 ft for years but I own a construction buisness I do alot of layouts over 60 ft this let's me go out 37 ft before I need to set a nail to continue. Fits well in my hand -xl not bragging but if you have a smaller hand this may be awkward to hold. And yes 37 ft not 40 no tape will consistently go out all the way in the elements without braking or not retracting all the way you can get 40 but beware the springs are going to get worn out doing this repeatedly just how it goes 40 ft of spring retraction is alot of hi strength steel will eventually fatigue like all tapes. Great stand out 10 ft consistently 13ft up without wind or rain as tape isn't designed for extra weight or outside forces none are. Standouts are lab controlled tests but it performs well. I tell mu guys nothing under 35 ft because most structures exceed that granted when if finally dies 75% of the tape looks new the first 20 ft and worn but thats the nature of the job.

Measurements are accurate and locks well. Compact size and typical Stanley quality. Only down side is the narrow blade. If you need a tape to reach out and not fall, look for something a little higher quality.

The Best

My husband swears by this measuring tape. He says it’s the best one on the market & is perfect for a contractor like him. It’s heavy but the retraction is strong & lasts a long time. I wish it had a warranty because it does wear out with a lot of regular use but he goes through a lot less than with any other brand. He highly recommends!
