The comfort and styling of your favorite everyday five-pocket style pant with tactical functionality and stretch built right in. The defender-flex pant has been developed for 5.11 end users who are looking for low-vis tactical without sacrificing performance at the firing range or comfort for everyday wear. The defender-flex is available in a straight fit or a slim fit. Crafted with a cavalry twill cotton/polyester blend, with just enough elastane for stretch, these pants are made to keep their shape with style. The five-pocket styling and soft fade finish look sharp, and the back Mag pockets mean you'll always be ready. Gsa/taa compliant.

Perfect... For my Demographic
24, male, 5'10", 160 lbs, athletic build. Usually wears 30x32 jeans, however I used to wear 30x34 Levi 502's (they were always kinda short for some reason). I purchased these in 30x32 and they were perfect, choose your normal size. These pants are slim. Not skinny, not straight. Slim. These are the same types of fit other brands use, but for some reason other reviewers mixed these up, along with not understanding how to select the correct size (unless 5.11/Amazon has since changed the drop down menu for selecting the size). These pants were designed for younger athletic men, and as such they fit with a modern, below the lower abs, appearance. If you try to wear them high and tight like old school jeans the crotch region will be too constricting and they will look short. They stretch a reasonable amount, and for those of us with large quads and calves that's important. You can comfortably run in these which is very important for "tactical pants".Construction is excellent. I'm surprised, almost every seam is double-sticthed, the zipper is just as good as YKK, and the belt loops are perfect. I HATE Jean's that only have 5 belt loops, Levi's, Wranglers, and Old Navy are all guilty of this. These pants however have 8! They easily accommodate thick 2" belts through them, but I would suggest you run an inner belt and wrap your duty/battle belt over using belt keepers as normal. They also have a second small loop inside the belt loop you can feed a carabiner through to carry gloves, ear pro, comms wire, etc. The extra pockets on the back side fit spare rifle mags, phones, small radios (Baofeng), wallets, and notepads perfectly. The colors bleed slightly, they're designed to fade a little from what the tag says. Gimmick? Yeah, but it looks alright. Don't wash them with whites!Overall I'm impressed. I bought mine on sale for $49.99. $69.99 is a lot to ask, but there aren't a lot of quality alternatives. 5.11 is a bit of meme at times but I can't argue with these pants, they're certainly less expensive than TAD. Vertx's Delta pants are great as well, but they're a little more expensive and aren't as slim as these and the knife pockets are very visible.

Good pants for James Bond
Great tactical pants. You can’t tell they are tactical... but they are. Which is what I need. I don’t need people knowing what all is going on in my pants. I have worn these pants, and in other colors, multiple times to nice events and some not so nice...where I am expected...and must be...tactical...and they were flexible so that I could run, fight, and carry what needed to be carried with comfort yet with clandestine styling. Meaning you think they are normal pants but I got lots of perfectly placed pockets for my gear that you can’t see. I have worn them to meetings, weddings, churches, Funerals, play grounds with the kids, out to dinner, and in Other various Applications. They are nice enough to be accepted anywhere and tactical enough to act like the new James Bond. After a year or so the crotch will show some wear, but it’s expected from heavy use. Good pants for anyone...especially for the person needing extra space in the waistband...if you know what I mean. By that I mean...a fat...big ol...🔫 🍔 belly.

Inconsistent cut
Pants are great, durable and have ample stretch for movement. I ordered two pairs one in burnt brown, and the other in oil green. The fit on the burn brown was tapered and fit in line with my expectations for a slim pair of jeans, similar to levi 502s. The pair in oil green however had less of a taper and were much more loose. Definitely not a straight cut, but not as tapered as I would have expected from a slim fit. Both pairs work awesome and I have had no need to return the looser fitting of the two. Keep in mind when ordering you may get unlucky and up with a loose pair of "slim" pants.

Their excellent both for outdoor and office dress code
Amazing pair of pants. The only issue for me is that they get pretty hot when wearing them. Also should have gone for the 32 length Late addition:I am already at my third pair the volcano (lets face it its dark blue), gravel and now i got the the only ones thats left in my size, the brown.Best pants I own. They are a little bit hot however they are really strechy (way more then jeans) and very durable. And bottom line they dont look like tactical pants. Why in the hell did they stop making them????

Love Them!!!
I have a concealed carry friend at work that bought "tactical jeans". 5.11. I picked on him hard. As a goof, I searched Amazon for slim fit tactical jeans. Was getting a little tired of cargo pants/shorts for concealment. Saw these at half the price($30) and figured I'd give them a try. And holy %#@%!! I love these jeans!!! They are comfortable as hell with extra hidden pockets. Its like wearing pajamas. And I leave home with a loaded 11 round P365, a 12 round back up mag, a sheathed fixed blade and an 11 inch auto and no one would even know. And after re-reading what I wrote, I know this review will never see the light of day. But F it. These pants rock!!!!

Ordering more. Enough said.
These are my go-to pants when I have to mix function with appearance. There are convenient spots for my edc's pretty low profile and they fit in on the range, at the family barbecue and my wife never complains about what I'm wearing. I don't think about them when I'm wearing them, which is exactly what I'm looking for. They fit true to size for me, and inn ordering more. Nuff said.

My new favorite pants!!
I'm not one for a slim fit pair of pants but took a chance on these because of some of the reviews. So glad I did. These are the most comfortable pants I've ever owned. Too bad they are a discontinued style, Go figure. 5.11 web sight still has them, at a higher price, so I bought three other colors that were available in my size. The stretchiness makes these so comfortable. The extra pockets are a plus for those who "carry" because you can skip the extra mag pouch and just use the extra rear pockets.. Stop scrolling and just buy these, you'll love em'

the best pair of trousers I have ever had!
These are that good I now have every colour they make, I sent all my other casual trousers to a charity shop. 5.11 can be a little on the large size as the are cut for the American market. The 5.11 flex fit trousers look and feel great, so comfortable with a little stretch to the fabric but they don't look any different to a normal pair. all the extra pockets are great, the mag pocket will fit a 5.56/7.62 mag but can loose a 9mm pistol mag which makes a quick mag change a little slower than with a belt holster but for covert use just get a little practice in to speed up. Big problem with getting these is you will be so happy with 5.11 you will end up buying everything from their range, the tactical shirts are really great too! oh and the boots and the plate carrier and the bags and the hats.........

Comfy and flexible, but...
They wear well. You can run about in them if needs be, but still look slightly smarter than if wearing combats. Comfortable, good sized pockets (including two for pistol magazines - oh, America), and seem fairly hard wearing. The colour's off though. I wanted a pair of sandy beige trousers and while they're sort of that, there's a greenish hue that frankly always makes them look like they were once beige, and are now just dirty.I got them on a deal and as trousers to wear on a day to day basis they're good, but while I would buy another pair, I wouldn't at full price, because they're not *that* good.

Einfach klasse!
