Dirty Dancing [4K UHD] [Blu-ray]

I have loved this movie since I was 10 years old. I've owned it on VHS, on DVD, and now this beautiful Blue Ray edition.The "feelies" in the Collector's Edition are nice; I like the map/brochure of the resort, and the mock shooting script was a fascinating read. I loved seeing the "emotive"/motivational tips in the story, and now I finally know how old Johnny was supposed to be in relation to Baby! The script includes most of the deleted scenes, and some other information that didn't make it verbatem into the final cut. The "I carried a watermelon" wristlet seems fairly sturdy, but with some fraying on the cut/unfinished edges inside. As cute as it is, I probably won't use it, instead keeping it with the rest of the box. The same for the Kellerman's keychain and the compact. The "vintage" postcards are nice, and all the printed feelies are very high quality.As for the movie itself, I've only watched the Blue Ray disc, not the DVD or the digital copy. The print is MUCH cleaner than the 10-year anniversary DVD I have, which looked like it was transferred from an old VHS. There's still a slight grainy quality to the picture, but the colors have been sharpened (some of the clothing and graphics which looked pink on my DVD are now a much more vibrant red) and the audio is crisp and clear.I have some issues with the closed captions; there are some passages that I know are wrong, some lines that are shortened or condensed (which leave out some of the context of the original lines), and I don't like that they don't at least acknowledge the music cues, as the soundtrack is almost a character in itself. Even a simple "(Big Girls Don't Cry playing in background)" would enhance the captions. I did just use the English subtitle track; maybe the other one is better.I love all the extended/deleted/alternate scenes included, and the "Happy Birthday, Dirty Dancing" featurette is wonderful, covering the original movie, the stage show, and the upcoming television movie. We saw a truncated version of this feature when we went to the Fathom Events screening, and there's a bit in there that just made me sob happy tears.Overall, this is an amazing anniversary collection. The restoration of the film is beautiful, the shooting script adds so much more nuance to the story, and the feelies add just a beautiful look into the past.

Best dance movie ever made. Lionsgate has done this title justice with tons of extras and the best picture and sound quality Dirty Dancing has ever had. This is the version u want cause this movie should be watched loud . If you're a fan of Dirty Dancing then this is the way u want to own it and the best price at under $8 u can't go wrong. Buy this movie today even if u own 1 of the many other versions released over the years u still want this version. Received in perfect condition and on time so get your copy today u don't want to wait

Talk about a movie that's stood the test of time! If you haven't watched it, you gotta see it. Beloved by teen girls and their much older mothers. This movie is always a favorite at our house.This is also the film that shot Patrick Swayze to fame but sadly did not do the same for his co-star Jennifer Grey.

This was a tear jerker movie in some parts! It has good music! Showed forgiveness being important to be part of a family. Are scenes of abuse!But also scenes of love. Might scare young children.

I could go on and on about Dirty Dancing. I've been watching this movie since I was 8. My mom was watching it and I sat down and I hooked from that moment on. It's been my favorite movie since then! I've never in the 25 years since I first watched the movie, have changed my mind about this being the best movie ever made nor has it stopped being my favorite. The dancing, the music, the cast, the storyline...was all amazing. Every time I watch it, it transports me back to that time and I fall in love all over again with the movie. Highly recommend this movie!

I questioned myself about buying the DVDs at the very low price listed, but was very happy that they worked perfectly with no visible scratches and no skipping. That made watching the movie just that much more enjoyable when there were no problems. They really appeared to be brand new and never played.

Great movie and played perfectly. Considering I am only a bit younger than the people portrayed in the movie, I can tell you they do a great job with how the people were back then. as teens and early 20s. Swayze was terrific as the hard guy with the soft heart, and Grey was the perfect naive teenager. The chemistry was astounding, and the whole thing took me back to the days in the mid 60s when we went to dance parties with all the great music and friends dancing for hours. Watch the movie, it's great fun, and don't let anyone tell you it wasn't that way back then, because it was very much like that for sure.

My regular edition VHS finally gave up the ghost so I ordered the cheapest DVD I could and I'm really surprised at how much better the widescreen in. My 17 year old daughter completely understands now why I cried when Patrick Swayze died. Now she is going to watch RoadHouse for the first time...I pass the torch with tears in my eyes.For the content, if you really don't know, short summary: girl (Baby) goes to Poconos with family, girl meets underground dance crew, girl joins, girl falls for the hottie (Johnny), he falls for her, "No One Puts Baby in the Corner." Just watch it if you haven't.Notable appearances: Jerry Orbach, Law & Order fame, as the dad; Cynthia Rhodes as Penny.

I don't think I am being over dramatic to say that this is film most women place in their top 10 favourite films. The fact when the film was realised the production companies attitude was they made a huge mistake and expected it to flop is now hard to imagine, but many of the executives at the time did not realise there was a sub-plot concerning abortion in the story... one thing the American film industry have always been wary off. So when the figures of how many people where actually coming to the box office and sometimes going again was quite a surprise. And even more so when it was actually the highest grossing films of 1987Obviously since then it has exceeded so much more than just being a popular film; Dirty Dancing has had sequels, soundtracks, stage musicals and even dance competitions and is now considered a classic chick-flick.I think the appeal is the fact 'Baby' is all teenage girls struggling with their identity, along with parental expectation and then meeting the 'bad boy'. Many of the audience is also very familiar with the soundtrack having parents playing that music in their childhood homes but also the end did have a happy ending which any woman secretly yearns for that the 'bad boy' turns in to be their 'hero' at the end of the story. It did truly deserve all the adoration, awards and pure affection and turn Patrick Swazye and Jennifer Grey into stars

Back in 1987, when this was released, it wouldn't have been my type of film to go and see. But, since I saw a clip, and watched it on TV, I simply HAD to have this film in my collection. O K, it might be considered a chick-flick/rom-com, - whatever. The music is great, as is the story-line, from start, to finish. GREAT!

Still love this movie after all these years. Patrick Swayze was a wonderful actor and dancer, I could watch his dancing for ever and never get tired of it! And Jennifer Grey was perfect for the part of Baby, an amazing actress, she played that part so well, exactly how a young girl would act when she's fallen in love with a gorgeous guy. And he falls for her generous and selfless 💓 heart. 😄

we only bought another copy because our disabled daughter plays this DVD at least 10 times aweek and the last two wore out great film but don't think i'll be here for remake shame as I know it off by heart.

It takes me back to when my school sweetheart and I went to see this film at the cinema when it first came out. Even to this day the song 'Hungry Eyes' remains OUR song. It brings back such sweet memories.
