Ka-Bar ZK-Famine Tanto Knife

Great gift for men!

First things first, this is an amazing knife/tool! It's a KBar, which is great and even though the sheath isn't kydex, it is still an excellent one with many options for attachment be it molle or belt the possibilities are endless with the included sheath. The material of the handle scales does not bother me at all like it does some people. It index's perfectly in My hand and they (my hands) are not big. I wear a size small/med glove. Also, the style of handle allows for multiple styles of grip and the fact that it (the blade) comes with an extra set of black handle scales makes it that much better! The zombie green is great for nighttime, let's you spot it quickly after dropping it! The adjustable pocket on the sheath is also a plus! Keep a fire kit in there or a first aid kit. You are only limited by your imagination. Did I mention there's an extra sidekick blade included! It's not bad, good for small cutting tasks or for whittling. This is the second KBar I've ever owned. The first one I received while stationed in the Marine Corps back in 2001 and I still have it till this day! I must admit, I am a bit skeptical about where this Zombie Tanto is actually made. I know KBars are supposed to be made in New York and the Zombie Tanto does say "Orleans" on it but it doesn't say made in USA or even USA on the opposite side which is strange. Also the little sidekick blade that comes with it is clearly stamped KBar on one side and Made in China on the other!! What's up with that! I am happy though. But it will be another 20 years (if it holds up) when I can review it again

Ka-Bar knives have been my favorites for a while now, and with good reason. They're tough, they're durable, they hold an edge; they're made of top-quality materials, and they're built to do what knives are supposed to do.This does not disappoint in any of those categories. The slight curve in the front edge of the blade makes for smooth cutting, and it holds the edge very well. The scalloped serration is great, making it better for sawing motions than most knives with pointed serrations are.The scales are tough and don't let you worry about losing your grip. It also comes with a black pair of scales, for those who are looking to put this to more practical use. My only major complaint with the design is that there's no guard; I haven't had to stab into anything hard enough to cause my hand to slide up onto the blade, but I could realistically see it happening.The handle is large enough to give you a good grip though; my hand doesn't slide around at all when I use it.The sheath is fantastic; the pouch on the front has enough room in it that I can easily pack smaller camping necessities- a good length of paracord, lighters, matches or flint, a sharpening tool, trail mix, and other small tools. It's also MOLLE compatible.The kit also includes the Acheron skeleton knife. I learned the hard way is that the tip of this smaller blade is not particularly durable. Useful for gutting a fish, but not much else.I've owned this knife for about 7 years now, and it continues to impress.

I saw this on uncrate dot com a while back and have wanted it ever since. I have no reason whatsoever to own such a knife. Short of an actual Zombie attack, this thing is ridiculous. At lets be honest, the Zombies are probably going to get you at the first encounter. They always seem to come in hordes, and unless you're a ninja, forget it! The most you can hope for is to go down in messy fashion, and a film crew near by. I'd be willing to bet most of the guys buying this have IT jobs and have never hunted or struck another person in their lives. Nevertheless, it's really cool. You're wife or girlfriend will think you're an idiot. You are, but that's okay, because look at this sweet black and green cutting tool you got!Technically speaking, it seems well made. It has a nice scabbard and black grips you can swap out for the green ones. Not sure how well the edge will hold up? I'll let you know as soon as I saw through my first Zombie spine. It has "TAIWAN" stamped on the blade. I assume it was forged there. Hey, better than "Made in China". I love the black blade on green, you will too.If I were to rate it based on function and looks, clearly it's a 5 star item, but my sensible side says I should deduct a star merely because no adult should really feel the need to own this. If you're doing okay in life, and have the money laying around, this is a fine addition to your collection of ninja weapons and hand guns.Buy it, then enjoy never using it.

They didnt include the 2nd smaller knife as advertised. What they did send was good, but I feel like I git ripped off since it was supposed to include a 2nd smaller knife and the zombie knives patch to stick on the velcro.
