Superb earphones.
I bought these bluetooth headphones specifically for a recent city-break trip to use with guided audio tour apps on my iphone. And they fulfilled the intended function perfectly. I could walk around the city without cumbersome wire connections between the earphones and my iPhone to get caught in the straps of my shoulder bag. The bluetooth connection was quick, easy and painless and connected quickly every time I activated the earphones. The supplied ear cups are effective and can be easily changed to the different sizes it came with, though I have now lost the little packet they came in so am stuck with the caps I had last fitted on the earphones. They fit into my ears really snuggly and block out any surrounding sound. During the guided audio tours I used a smaller size so some ambient sound would come through and I could be more aware of what was going on around me. There are three button-controls on the left hand side of the neck band: on/off which also pauses audio and accepts incoming calls, increase volume which can also skip tracks forward, and decrease volume which also skips back to previous tracks. The on/off cannot activate the voice control function on the phone for siri, nor activate an out-going call. For that you need to use the phone itself. I haven't played around much with the range but I have walked around my flat with the phone in one corner of a room and there has been no loss of signal to the earphones anywhere. The battery is awesome. I haven't re-charged it for at least two weeks and have used it well in excess of the stated nine hours of battery life and it shows no sign of running down. I don't even know what happens when it runs down and if it gives a warning or not, or if volume decreases or just shuts down. As to be expected from a device intended for extra bass, it really is bass-y, and that might not be to everyone's liking. But if you do like to hear the deeper tones in music and any other audio you will probably like these earphones. I played around with the EQ on the music setting on the iphone and found 'off' to be the best EQ setting. When I use my old pair of Sony wired earphones I set the EQ to 'rock'.I preferred these earphones to other types I tried where the bluetooth bits are in the earphones themselves as the pieces that fit into each ear were too bulky. The earphones on the XB70BT are slightly larger than standard non-bluetooth earphones, with all the gubbings and electrical wizardry in the rubberised neckband, so they don't look too dissimilar to standard non-bluetooth earphones, apart perhaps from the rubber neck band..Really pleased with these headphones and am glad I bought them.

Sony MDR-XB70BT Extra Bass Bluetooth In-Ear Neckband Headphone
Very good earphones supplied with different ear bud sizes (the correct size do make a difference).Supplied with hardly any battery power which makes me think these headphone's have some parasitic drain on the battery over time. The sound quality is very good provided the bass can be adjusted on the device you are playing from (or the treble increased).they do go loud, I have even had the drivers physically moving in my ears due to the bass. Then I got a head ache after 30 mins of songs with deep bass !Battery life is very good but i am probably biased after the battery was dying on my Sony SBH52The weight isn't an issue but they do tend to slide around my neck if physically working.

Best for the price
I will keep it very brief and simple.Thses are very good bluetooth headphones. Durable, easy on neck and long lasting battery. So I use them around 2 to 3 hours a day every other day and I only charge them over the weekend. So in total I get about 10 hours of continuous play time and standby for whole week. I can keep using it for another hour or so.For the first use I actually didn't like the output at all the bass is bit too much for someone like me who love bass. But I fixed it by using my mobile built-in equaliser and sound could not have been better.Attaching my settings if you want to try it. This setting gives the very balanced bass and treble output.

Beautiful Sound; Wouldn't Choose for Calling or Listening to Podcasts
*Pros*- superb bass response- comfy, sturdy fit- simple collar controls*Cons*- electronic hiss sound constantly present during calls / podcasts / quieter listening; I've since noticed that the Sony Bluetooth speaker I have emits the same hiss- difficult for caller to hear your voice

Ok, as audiophiler an music dance music producer I am very picky about choosing my headphones, both for leisure time or for work. Let’s start to say that for personal enjoyment I was looking for headphones both wireless and non that would give me the feeling of being in a club or studio environment with sub bass on... well look no further-if you’re into electronic music or Funk ( where bass line and synths need to be both under& around you) those Sony are the bomb! I purchased several and honestly only Sony give me the sound that I was aiming for. Decent mid &high no mushiness and I can hear a good separation ( stage). I highly recommend to get App player with awesome EQ control... I use and urge you to get both players Colatplayer or HF Onkyo that would really make the difference in shaping your sound to your taste. I keep reading reviews on headphones “ too much bass, or , too much hights” we’ll get the headphones you rather most and work with eq adjustments. I must confess that as leisure I also purchased the Sennhiser HD1 wireless, those gives good deep bass ands tremendous high quality in clarity and soundstage yet they can be a bit on the harsh side on higher frequencies so that’s when the eqing comes handy tame the high f. and I don’t lose the punchy sub-bass. Hope I was helpful! Alexia.

Background hiss
I ordered three pairs of these consecutively, hoping that eventually I would find one that didn't hiss whenever they connected to my phone or computer. The first pair had such a noticeable hiss I could hear it even when playing music at a substantial volume. The second pair was slightly less intrusive, but unless I was walking around outside I still noticed it. The final pair also hissed, so I'm moving onto a different brand because if I'm paying more that £30 for some earphones I expect the technology to be decent enough that there isn't that much background noise. Apart from this they were comfortable, great sound and easy to use, so if you can deal with the background noise and/or don't have the best hearing... go for it.
