Good game, flawed by greedy EA
Firstly before I mention the gameplay. Argh, microtransactions.“You can’t win Anakin, I’ve purchased 'The High Ground'...."Currently switched off by EA, but the idea they could come back is a good reason to avoid this game. Think panini cards you buy online, but the cards improve your player. Introducing kids to this 'buy to improve' concept is awful. Shame on money grabbing EA for a game already £60+. Though you’re not forced to buy them, they’re optional purchases and additions to improve your characters quicker. Now we have that out of the way, the game. The visuals, sound and general gameplay is great. The starfighter online gameplay is brilliant, a real step up from the original with improved targeting, movement and scenario based teamplay. There’s currently no AT-AT Walker mode at present. Which would be a welcome return in future free DLCs, as this was one of the better modes in the original. This void is currently filled with Galactic Assault, a 20 vs 20 objective based game spanning all eras of Star Wars.I’ve played 7 hours and unlocked Darth Vader and progressed some roles to a decent level. Which to me highlights you can progress without microtranactions, just that people are willing to pay to get there quicker, and EA will happily take your money.During gameplay, depending on how well your doing, you earn points (No £) to use items mid-game like Rocket Troopers, AT-ST walkers or heroes. No more hero pickups like Battlefront1.The game feels larger than the first. The campaign is a good addition, not a reason alone to get this game, but new stories and characters are nice to immerse yourself in as a fan.Arcade mode is good for learning & creating customs battles which can be played split screen with a friend.Would I pay £60+ again. No.Would I wait for the price to drop, and wait for EA to remove microtransactions. Absolutely.

Sumptuous Graphics, Good Voice Acting, Let Down By Greedy Approach
Whilst there is much to like about this game, it suffers from a fair selection of flaws - enough, perhaps to annoy more than entertain. Without hopefully giving too much away, the expansive outing starts with events just before the destruction of the Empire's second Death Star and takes us all the way through to the emergence of the First Order. In single-player mode you are given a variety of charaters to play, including Luke, Leia, Han and Lando, although you spend most of your time as Iden Versio, whose story is too central to the plot to reveal here. The single-user game is divided into a series of 12 major "missions", each of which is relatively linear and comes with easy-to-follow prompts.Graphics are generally first rate. The voice acting is extremely good [though none of the headline case voice their famous characters, the substitutes aren't too grating] and the sound quality - especially surround, is excellent. There are some gripes with the game engine - particularly in the flying missions - and some of the design choices [such as the need to go to what likely started out as a "loot box" if you want to change your weapon].By far the biggest gripe with the game, however, is that it's simply too brief. There's not even a dozen hours of gameplay in here, which for a £50+ AAA title is shameful. More on that below.Plus Points:-+ Extremely good graphics - on the PS/4 Pro, at least - with no stutter and a beautiful level of detail...+ Excellent voice acting - in fact sound all round is good, but clearly an attempt to keep up to the sort of quality we've come to expect from i.e. Drake's Fortune games...Minus Points:-- Too short. Much, much too short- The flight physics are bonkers. On the PS/4 gamepad, the right joystick moves the nose of your ship up, down, left and right, but moving the left stick left and right initiates roll to the left and right. What? Clearly the programmer who did this has never flown an aircraft in real life...- Too much of the game requires you to have a Playstation Network Account. It's another example [like Destiny] of much of the advertised content being moved so that you can only access it if you keep on paying Sony money.- The missions are too linear and samey. Go someplace. Shoot bad guys. The end.Sum-Up... This has the core of being a truly excellent game, but it has been short-changed by spending a lot of money on a beautiful graphics engine and voice acting, only to see it spoiled by some money-grabbing design decisions. If you are an existing Sony Network subscriber, and/or a hardcore Star Wars fan, it's going to be a good choice. But if you're a casual gamer who prefers the likes of Drake's Fortune or Horizon:Zero Dawn, best avoided.

Love it
Absolutely love this game such an improvement on the previous game! Saying that there are certain things that are irritating about it like how slow new heroes come out and new skins coupled with the fact that you have to buy the new skins or heroes with money which isn't cheap unless you can accumulate enough credits through game play which can be difficult when you have a job. Apart from that its brilliant!!

good game
bought this for my son and I to play together. We both enjoyed the single player game and the two player battle missions where we can team up. Overall a great game but I would have liked a bit more content.

Not as annoying as the first one
Not as annoying as the first one. Both the new versions still feel they lack something compared to the original versions although they are a huge improvement on graphics.Single player campaign was interesting but short and lacked story options.

Oh dear
Compared with Battlefront 1, I do not rate this game. Everything I liked about the first has gone especially the cooperate 2 player aspects. Won't be in a hurry to buy 3 until I read users reviews - now deleted off my ps4 but still use the original Battlefront 1.

As of 2019, the game is good
You may have heard the controversial things surrounding the game but as of 2019 the game has made a comeback like No Mans Sky. Prequel and sequel era have seen tremendous upgrades with new characters skins reinforcements and no pay to win elements. New maps star cards and various game modes

The EA server keeps crashing. I am having continues problem with connecting to EA.
Totally not what I have paid The EA server keeps crashing. I am having continues problem with connecting to EA. It takes about 20 minutes to start a game it's also a bug-ridden mess. This EA game is very expansive and very frustrating because of all the problem’s that comes with it. I am very disappointed with this Game.
