TFA Dostmann 30.5026.02 Moxx Digital Thermo-Hygrometer

Temperature wise it is accurate but hygrometer not accurate at all. Humidity 45% but on 3 other devices showing 10% more...

This is a discreet piece of kit measuring approximately two and a half inches wide and three inches tall, suitable for an average sized room. The clear digital display is large in proportion to the size of the meter and it appears accurate (I tested it alongside an existing hygrometer/thermometer which I know to be accurate and the readings were very similar).I wanted a second gadget because the relative humidity levels in this old cottage can vary as much as 25% from room to room and I didn't want to have the dehumidifier running unnecessarily on one floor of the cottage, when it might have been more gainfully employed on the other.The instruction leaflet is comprehensive, but using the meter is pretty intuitive anyway.There is an aperture on the back of the meter for it to be wall mounted, but if you want it to stand on a surface, a curved plastic strip is supplied which fixes to the back of the meter.This is where it lost its fifth star, because I found the lugs that fit the stand to the meter are really fiddly to fit. When finally fitted, the stand covers the battery compartment, so the stand will have to be removed when the battery needs replacing, and the fiddly process of refitting the stand repeated.I'd consider this a design fault, especially if like me, you're a bit fumble-fingered. So, regretfully, four stars, not five.

I have several of these, some have lasted over a year without needing a battery change.

I purchased two of these and tested side by side. It turned out they are not accurate compared to each other. Humidity level is different, changing between 2%-4% for both. The one on the left always shows higher humidity compared to the one on the right. It seems like the one on the right has slightly more battery power (You can tell by the display power of the indicators). Maybe it's related to battery power but when it comes to temperature, both seem quite accurate compared to each other. I'd update this review if I heard from the manufacturer. Anyway, that's not a vital fault but worth mentioning.

Seems to be doing its job fine. I bought it because I converted my brick shed to a music room, and have some electrical stuff out there and was worried about the damp. Turns out I was right to be concerned. The meter reads 50-60% relative humidity in the house, but anywhere from 75-90 in the shed. Now just need to work on getting those figures down.It couldn't be easier to use. It has two buttons and a screen. The left button toggles between current temperature and relative humidity values, and maximum minimum values stored since the last reset. The right button changes the temp from celsius to fahrenheit when screen is showing current values, and resets the stored values when showing min or max.Have it screwed to the back of a door now, but had no issues with the stand. Slots in solidly, and is sturdy and does its job. Was expecting something flimsy, but it isn't.

What can I say? Other than, Sheer Quality speaks for itself. Item, smaller than I expected. In fact, it came as a pleasant surprise. Smaller than the palm of your hand, yet highly sharp/clear LCD screen. The LCD screen, can be viewed from a distance. The TFA Thermo-Hygrometer, surpasses your expectations, in terms of quality design, ease of use, and functionality. it stores Min-Max TempC + Humidity levels and it can be reset. I found it to be highly responsive and accurate. It only takes minute fluctuations in Temp or humidity levels and the read out registers. My only minor criticism is the desktop stand. I wish TFA Dostmann built into the unit rather than separate. It can be fiddly to fit into the grooves. So care must be exercised, least you exert excess pressure on the small curved stand. I called it a "cutie in the kitchen" ;-) Well done TFA GmBH

This device works well.The display is good and clear and it is a decent size too. I have a much higher priced temperature/humidity gauge and when I place this next to it the readings are within 0.5 degrees of each other on temperature. The humidity variance is wider with this device tending to read on the high side, but by only 2-3%.For the price though it is a handy little thing.

Downgrading by 1 star because all 3 stopped working now (Oct 2021). They should last longer.---Original review:Got one of these in summer 2015 and just bought two additional ones from Amazon (Feb 2017). All three units display practically identical readings which suggests good accuracy. I don't have reference equipment to check humidity, but temperature measurement is indeed very exact: my  Thermapen  (more expensive, calibrated thermometer) is always within 0.1-0.2 degrees of what the TFA Moxx displays.
