Excellent Fast Portable Level 2 Charger. Great LED Data Display.
Bought it for my Honda Clarity PHEV. Only needed the 32 Amp version but chose the 40 Amp version for future flexibility which only cost 10% more. This has been working really well. Love the LED indicators showing temperature of unit, Kwh processed, elapsed time, voltage, Amperage, kW level. Very convenient storage case included, to keep in car trunk. The LED indicators were very assuring to my friend, showing that my Honda Clarity's draw did not exceed 30 Amps (his dryer circuit breaker) and that the temperature of the device was fine.Used with an adapter to hook into a friend's three prong Dryer outlet:AC Connectors 1.5FT EVSE 30-Amp 3Prong NEMA 10-30P Dryer Plug to 50-Amp Electric Vehicle Adapter Cord for Tesla Model S [EV1030MS-018]Used with a 30' extender to get from inside house (Dryer outlet), through garage to car outside:SAE J1772A AC 250V 32 Amp 30ft 10AWGx3C+18AWG EV Charger Extension Cable Cord for EV Charger Charging Station etc.Perfect storage case for the 30' extender:Everest Carry-On Briefcase, Black, One Size

DO NOT BUY THIS TURBO CHARGER!!!!! My garage almost caught on FIRE!
Last weekend, my garage almost caught on FIRE! I emailed Jekayla immediately. It has been 7 days and NO response. Please check out my damaged charger. My garage is covered in little black plastic piece from the melted charger. The heat was so intense that the wires inside the wall were melted. The plug was melted into my garage outlet. I had my electrician come over to confirm all was okay within my garage and that my home did NOT cause this accident. He confirmed it was the faulty charger. My electrician said I was very lucky that my car was damaged either. I count myself very fortunate that we did not have a fire while we were all sleeping.ZERO STARS --- I was not able to submit this warning without giving this product at the very least ONE STAR, but it does not deserve it. BEWARE OF THIS PRODUCT.

Great Value with One Caveat
UPDATE 12/19: This charger continues to work flawlessly for me.I won't cover the same ground others have with the pros and cons of these chargers, but I wanted to point out that the ad copy for the 40A 14-50p is incorrect to state that 120V operation is possible with an adapter. I tried it. It does not work. (But only spent $10 on the adapter, so not a huge deal. That may come in handy later anyway.) I'd rate this charger a 5 if it were not for the misleading ad copy.Otherwise, I am very pleased with the quality despite a tight fit of the car connection.

Must-have EV accessory (updated January 2019)
Original review (purchased July 2017): Very fast charger (used on my Fiat 500e), and the display of the actual power draw is very helpful.Updated review (January 2019): The charger is dead and does not communicate at all with my Fiat 500e. It started giving frequent charging errors a few weeks ago, with the car complaining, "service charging system," and displaying the "blinking goal-post signs" (it's a Fiat 500e thing) whenever it was plugged in to this charger. As of last week, even that part stopped, and while the charger's display still shows the usual information, plugging it in to the car does absolutely nothing at all, and the charger shows no current being drawn by the car. I am back to using the car's OEM Level-1 charger now, and if owning an electric car means replacing a $429 charger in less than 1.5 years, then that eats in to the (so-called) "gas savings."Having initially given this charger 5 stars, I'm afraid I must revise that rating down to 2 stars since it worked great while it worked, but having it become completely worthless in less than 1.5 years of use is simply unacceptable for a product that costs this much.

Only 16ft cable (not specified in description)
I purchased the 40A version, I have a Chevy Volt and it looks like it's only drawing 15A. The cable length was not specified in the description, I had assumed it would be 25ft like most of the others in this price range but it turns out it's only 16ft. Had I known, I would have gone for a different one.

So happy We Bought these
We have to plug in hybrids . we got tired of the slow charge using the regular charger. we ordered two of these and we had two high-capacity outlets installed (which you need for these chargers)We are so glad we did! Our cars get a full charge in just a few hours. We hardly ever use any gasoline anymore! We just plug in when we get home and we are always ready to go!After 8 months of use, we developed a slight problem with one of the chargers. When we contacted the seller for warranty they were great about it! no fuss no muss. We just wrote them and they sent us out a warranty replacement. it was here in 2 days. We really noticed how the seller really stands behind what they sell. We are very happy! Worth every cent!

Very Effective Level 2 charger
I shopped for a good Level 2 charge on Amazon for our new Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid. The 110V charger that came with the car took 12 hours to reach full charge. This 40A charger did it in just 2 hours. I bought the corded version rather than the hard-wired unit for more flexibility. The Amazon page recommended a particular NEMA outlet that we purchased along with the charger. I had an electrician install the outlet on a separate 40A breaker. I was then able to run the cord in such a way that it now dangles from the garage ceiling next to the charging port on the car. My HondaLink app notifies me when the charging is complete. The unit doesn't come with a manual but I really don't know what info I would need that is not already apparent by the charger description.
