but that is no excuse to waste precious resources
When you consider that the cost of the actual toner, when separated from the rest of the cartridge, is more than *gold*, you know that something is wrong here. These companies have essentially shifted the cost of the printer to being able to sell toner at an exorbitant price. The other reviewer that said that it's crazy that the roller is being replaced with every cartridge is dead on the money here.I have my original (1998) HP Laserjet 4000. Those cartridges have one thing in them - TONER. The drums/etc - everything else is separately replaceable. Granted,this is a black & white laser printer and the M750 is color, but that is no excuse to waste precious resources.Of course, these companies want the empty cartridge back and will give you maybe $2 of $3 for them which is also crazy. When you can *easily* save 60%+ by going to a remanufactured cartridge (my personal favorite is ldproducts.com) you know something is up - and they're STILL making a ton of money.I recently bought another HP Printer - M651DN - check out my review there - a set of brand new HP cartridges costs *close to* what I paid for the printer new (which was $1299.95). So, what they're REALLY selling you is a new set of HP Cartridges and a piece of plastic shell with a small amount of electronics in it.Think about that!Bill and Dave would NEVER have let HP turn into this type of company and I'm sure they're turning over in their graves...
