I don't know how I lived without these before. Having to wrap up a hundred foot of hose each time I used it honestly made me not want to use it. With this is literally grab and go, and when you're done give it a little yank and it wraps itself back up again in seconds.The original lasted about 2 wonderful years at which point it developed a leak inside. Upon reaching out to Gardena they promptly shipped out a replacement unit at no cost.So an excellent product and excellent customer service, what more could you ask for?

I think overall this product is pretty good and worth the price. Couple takeaways….-I bought the one with the mount that screws into the ground. Unfortunately I live in the desert and with our soil conditions this was not going to work. So I had to dig a hole and pour concrete. That said, I’m glad I did cause now it’s very sturdy.-the part are proprietary, but you can buy adaptors so that you can use other attachments.-this hose itself is thin but overall I still get decent pressure. I do switch hoses when I put my hose into the pool to top it off.I went back and forth for a few months mulling over wether I want to but this or not, but in the end I’m glad I did. Would definitely recommend.

We love this hose reel so much we bought another one for the front yard too. Be aware however, if you have service companies coming to your house like Stanley Steemer, Roto-Rooter, Termite company, etc that requires hookup to your water hose bib, this will be VERY tempting to them. They all twisted off the end and caused a mangled leak. Currently trying to repair. Place a label or sign on reel and nozzle saying “do not attempt to remove - quick connect!” We have a separate Hose bib we redirect them to. They cut us a check to replace the entire reel because they’re not supposed to use customers’ hoses. Living in New Orleans has a lot of challenges. Stupid people attempting to use your things without permission, is sadly one of them. We remove the nozzle after each use now. Love all the options. Buying sprinkler attachments next!

I love that it’s attached to the house, adjusts left and right, I can pull it and it clicks and locks in place, it really is over 100’ long, the storage unit holds the weight and quickly and quietly rolls the hose back up. It’s a lifesaver. The only issue I’ve had so far is you can’t leave the spigot on and use the nozzle to turn the water on and off. My water pressure must be pretty good because the next day I watered the flowers in the morning and around 4pm the nozzle exploded off the end and I had water everywhere. My fault for not bending over to close the spigot.

I hate rolling up hoses and reel carts always leak or are unwieldy. The Gardena system is pricey, but I think it will last a long time.We had to make a "pilot " hole in our hard ground and add water to get the spike twisted in. The spike allows the reel to swivel which makes pulling hose easier. The retraction system is a breeze. The quick connects work with our existing brass quick connects. We will easily be able to store the reel for the winter and it has a cap to cover the ground sleeve. They have thought of everything although I will miss the storage compartment on our cheap old plastic reel.We have not had a pressure issue with the smaller diameter hose, but our water pressure isn't the greatest to begin with. I suppose it would be nice to have a 5/8" hose or be able to wind on your own, but have no complaints.Our foster dog zeroed in on any hose lying on the ground within seconds and had destroyed 2 hoses within days, but strangely enough does not recognize this system as a hose or even as something to chew on! And, with the retractable hose I am no longer having to completely roll up plain old hose to avoid her hose Spidey senses. Lucky us.Overall, I would buy again.

Well built, well designed, functions as advertised … just makes sense. I love it. We attached the wall mounted unit to our brick house with some tapcon screws from the store. More than sturdy enough to hold the unit up. It makes life easier and more aesthetically pleasing. Thanks Gardena!

I wanted a retractable hose reel without having to mount it to the wall. I love that you can practically put this anywhere. I actually moved this around a couple of times and the setup was super easy. I did need to get a longer lead hose - the provided 5 ft hose was just too short for me. Just hope it holds up well - will plan on updating at a year or so.

Retraction is strong and reliable. Upgraded the basic hose, but overall, this is solves a lot of watering problems.

Arroser est devenu un vrai plaisir! Le tuyau se déroule et se réenroule sans aucune difficulté, sans nœuds ni blocages qui arrivent constamment avec les enrouleurs classiques. L'installation avec la vis sans fin est un peu contraignante (il faut avoir un peu de force...) mais une fois ancré dans le sol, il ne bouge plus. Il peut se diriger dans toutes les directions. C'est vraiment un très bon appareil. Dommage, il est un peu cher mais si son budget le permet, c'est un objet recommandable qui facilite la vie du jardinier.

Bought one for back of house as I was pleased with the performance of the first. Would recommend 25 metre over shorter ones as fittings are more convenient. Very easy to mount to wall as long as you check first where the hopepipe housing will swing to. Never had any problem recoiling hosepipe but be careful not to let your hands get close to the housing as the recoil is strong and could pinch your fingers.
