Will this work with the main wireless network along with the guest access wifi or will it just help extend one and not the other using a belkin n750

It will only extend the Main wireless network (specifically the 2.4GHz band). The F9K1015 is a single band wireless extender and does not support the 5GHz band. You might want to consider the dual-band version of N300 extender: http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Wall-Mount-Wi-Fi-Extender-F9K1015/dp/B00K6HKJKI/ref=cm_cd_al_qh_dp_i to extend both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks of your Belkin N750 router.

how hard to setup is it? I want to send it to my dad but i am sure he wont be able to do an complicated setup....

I returned it since it was not making any difference in the range for me. One thing you need to know is that it will create another network name with '_ext' appended to it. So you/ your Dad will have to connect to that network also. Personally, my experience was that the new network was as bad as original one. I ended up buying a new router with greater range. YMMV. The light changes from blue to yellow and then back
