This one asks some interesting questions of its characters
For an author I had not known about before this series, I have to admit I find this writer to be one of the more thoughtful creative minds to attempt a LitRPG tale. The main character is a bit too willing to allow things to flow around her and at one point in this book an archmage notes her preference in element often indicates a personality that goes with the flow too much.Worse there is one character in this book who was in my mind extremely problematic. He abuses a power he has and no one stops him until its obvious that this character is supposed to be the book's boogeyman. He's not a personality, but a deus ex machina force used to instill tension in a overbearing and obvious way. That was my main and really only major complaint about the tale. The development of the characters was excellent and the overall story is fun and interesting. I do wish there was less jumping between the settlement the main character owns and the city where she's being trained. But it does allow the author to build characters and spin the plot out. This is a good series so far. I expect lovers of the genre will find this to be a worthy addition to their collection of books.

Perfect page-turner
I was a bit hesitant on this series at first, but once the author hit their stride, I was absolutely captivated. It's a shame I can't read it for the first time all over again.

Excellent Series
This story of a young lady taken right before death to another world was fantastic. The god of luck is her sponsor, and she needs to level up before other champions find and kill her for her experience points.

Very well done
As somebody that reads a lot (hundreds more books a year than I ever thought possible until I discovered Kindle Unlimited), I’ve read some really great stories and some that fell completely flat. The world building in this series is very well done (although a map of where all the cities are in relation to each other would be nice, but certainly not needed). The character development is outstanding. I get tired of reading stories of where the MC starts off overpowered and only continues to become more OP as the story progresses. Seeing that Tess, although slightly more OP than a normal human, has some of the same issues that plague most people is a refreshing change. The story has just the right amount of comedy in it to not make it overly comical, while still relieving some of the tension of the more suspenseful parts of the story. I especially loved how long it took her to pass her class trial, and all the comedic parts that came along with that.I can’t wait to see what book 3 has in store. Will Cal get back in time to convince her father not to go to war on Tess? Will Hartha be able to control her soul magic enough to save Rock before he dies? So many questions I can’t wait to have answered. Unfortunately, I have to wait a week before I can sign up for Patreon to get the sneak peek into what’s coming next, and I feel as though it’s going to be a painfully long wait for me (patience has never been a virtue for me).

Great series
It's slower than book one but extremely satisfying in character development. A lot of time went into setup for book three so I'm looking forward to it.

Highest Marks!
Truly a wonderfully imaginative, well told story. The best combination of storytelling and LitRPG I have come across.I am going to be buying physical copies of this series to have and to cherish.

If you are looking for an OP MC
This is not quite the book for you. The MC seems to focus more on experiencing the world than just gaining experience. Is she OP? No. Well above average, and bearing a tiny bit of plot armor, but not immune to danger. Mostly prone to making reasonably good decisions, and aware of the bad decisions she makes (mostly). This is not an action packed, stomp the enemies into paste, daring to one up every unbelievably impossible achievement, absolute slaughter-fest. It is just a story about a girl. A girl who is granted magical powers, but still remains human. Highly recommend this if that sounds appealing to you.

Amazing
Every now and then you (somewhat accidentally) wind up with an unexpected but absolutely amazing book. This was one for me — and I really can’t say enough good things about it. It’s funny, the characters are engaging, the System is all System-ey, and the world building is great. Plus, it is both well written and well edited, which can be a rarity these days. I’m looking forward to the next book and this one is going on my list to read again soon. Highly recommended!

Great continuation
If you enjoyed book one, this is a great sequel. Perhaps a bit more slice of life than the original, with a classic 'school arc' - but handled very well. Definitely recommend.
