As those thicker coir mats can present a trip hazard for young running feet, this is a cheaper and better solution. On the downside, they are not non-slip and will even creep when placed on carpet

Door mat serves purpose and works as dust barrier

We bought this to replace the much smaller door mat as we found that we were making our wooden floor quite dirty when we came in when weather was wet, windy and or cold as in our hurry to keep the weather out we had to step past the mat to close the door. This mat allows us to close the door sooner and keep our floor clean. We haven't had it long enough to rate it's durability or how easy it is to clean.

Used inside our back door to catch dust being brought in from outside. Does a boring job really well.
