Q: Does it come apart for storing easily? I don’t have a lot of room, and would need to store it when she isn’t using it.

This product is much harder to install than the dance floor I purchased seven years (more expensive, 7 hooks per tile instead of 4, from the same manufacturer). I had to reinstall some tiles and they were stiff to take apart and put together (the more expensive product does very well). fwiw I do not plan to take it out. The problem is that aligning the tiles is a pain and if it is not exact it will not slide into place. I also think, but have not tested it out, that there is only one way to put the tiles -- can't skip 1/2 or 1/4 tile when the floor has a jog in it.

Q: Would 9 tiles be enough for one adult to practice tap?

No- that would be too small. The tiles are 12x12 and they come with 4 of them already put together. If you get 9 you will only have 2 blocks (like the above picture) which will be too small. Honestly, I would recommend at least 20 -30 tiles for 1 person. I bought 40 tiles for me and my daughter to do tap and it was a small space for the 2 of us, but we worked it out. Not much room for us to move across the floor so we did our routine closer together. I wish I had bought more.. would have given ya a bit more room. Hope this helps!

Q: Do they work well on carpet?

Yes, it has worked just fine on carpet. We did contemplate reinforcing it by putting it on wood 2x4s or something but haven’t needed to
