can you mix oil petrol in this ?

I have mixed 2 stroke oil and petrol in the can and this has worked well. If you are going to do this, I wouldn’t put any more than 5 litres in. You also need to remember to keep this separate, in that you don’t use if for storing petrol for 4 stroke machinery afterwards. I currently have 2, 1 for 2 stroke and one for 4 stroke.

Can it be used for diesel?

I don't see why not. Diesel is thin enough in consistency to pass through the nozzle.
