DENVER MC-5220, Black, Wall-Mountable, Music System, CD, FM Radio, Clock & Alarm function, Remote Control

Fabulous. Wanted this because i like listening to my CD's whilst in the bath or chilled out in bed. I love the fact you can use the CD as an alarm as well as the radio or the normal alarm function, I prefer using radio or CD. Its looks very snazzy beside the bedside especially with my bedroom being black and white its look very dapper.The sound is clear and goes to a reasonable volume also the remote is really a good touch to it as it can be quite fiddly the buttons on the main unit but tha'ts because i ain't got dainty fingers but still easy to use . The instructions are understandable to. Good buy and worth the money.

This is a perfect little stereo for my bedroom/office. It's very small, simple to use with a handy little remote, and has a reasonable sound quality for what it is. Okay, it's not got much power and it's not going to rattle your windows, but if you think your going to get full hi fi for less than forty quid, your on the wrong planet! It does have very useful aux and headphone sockets (I prefer these to all that blue tooth stuff) which are a great help when I'm writing/editing music on my laptop.My only qualm is the rather flimsy feel of it all, but again, you pays your money...

I haven't had this long and I only use it to play CDs, although it has quite a few other functions. It is very practical and looks great. My only reservation is the sound quality. I probably shouldn't be expecting so much from something so cheap, and it is probably much the same as most things in this price band, but it is worth remembering if you normally use even mid-range equipment that you will hear the difference when you get something like this. Having said that, the sound is acceptable in that it is clear and audible, so it would be fine for spoken word / talk radio or background music, but I wouldn't play an album I wanted to actually listen to on it. It does have a headphone jack though, if you wanted better quality and weren't planning on moving around much. Aside from that I am very happy with the product.

1.It did not work - made a beep sound when remote was used but did not wake up from it's permanent sleep2. Came with the wrong mains plug - how is it even legal to sell things that are not compliant with the UK electrical system?3. Box had previously been opened - the security tape had been removed before.

Being a low priced item the quality of sound is obviously compromised, is a very neat unit serving its purpose in a study room, ideal for mass media broadcasts but not for a more discriminating ear musically.Functions o k but controls flimsy, remote works as it should,display clear to read. Ideal if you just want a background of sound, such as local radio stations, none the less a reasonable product for the price.

(But for the price you pay you can't expect high end quality) also, it comes with remote control, so I prefer to use this.

My wife wanted something for our new kitchen / Diner and I liked the look of this one.I noted that some reviews said the sound was not good etc.Well in our Dining Room the sound is good enough to be heard above the Extractor Fan, Washing Machine and the portable Aircon unit.So it's good enough for us. It looks smart on the work top and it has one of the best FM Radios I ever had.So if you want better bya BOSE unit, but if like me you do not want to send over £900 then I think you will find the a great little mini music system.Well done Denver, great value well made and looks good too. £37.99 well spent. POSITIVES: (a) can be wall-fitted - exactly what I needed, (b) clear display, (c) compact size, (d)easy to use.NEGATIVES: (a) Stations are NOT programmable (!) - something that should be standard in an alarm radio, (b) Stations are tuned by means of an old-fashioned and very imprecise TUNING WHEEL - I haven't seen those in years - what happened to a much more precise digital tuning (?), (c) DENVER invested in a remote control for the CD-player (one disc) - however, one can really ONLY control the CD-player - I would have thought one can at least use the remote to turn ON/OFF the entire machine, but no, only the CD. Very impractical. (d) Radio reception by means of a flimsy throw-antenna is bad, particularly given the manual wheel tuning. (e) Radio reception of the radio is also unsatisfactory - I have used other radios in the same location with great stereo sound - the DENVER barely manages a tinny mono sound. (f) the radio/CD alarm has NO SLEEP function which defies the purpose for which I bought the machine. (g) The mode you use last in the evening is the one you will wake up to in the morning. No way of listening to your fav CD going to sleep and waking up with the news - a great pity.SUMMARY: Disappointing, sad in a way - could have been developed into a really neat appliance but I guess stuck somewhere under a kitchen cupboard it will do the trick.

Pour écouter la radio et des CDs. Évidemment ce n'est pas une grosse machine à son, mais tout à fait suffisant dans un appartement.

Radio cd, muy bonito y elegante. Es de plástico, pero los altavoces llevan un forro de tela. Los botones son con terminación metálica.Fácil manejo, muy orientativo. La pantalla de led, se apaga al rato de tocar los botones.Bastante potencia y muy buen calidad de sonido
