Affordable and works
It works fine with Apple TV 4K boxes and our not-smart (dumb) TVs. We have several TVs and most of the newer TVs worked just fine out of the box. Our older Sanyo TV needed the IR to be programmed manually. It is simple enough to do, you just have to work with it.- I pointed my TV remote to this remote 1" apart.- Press and HOLD the power + mute on this remote for a few seconds until the red LED turns on.- I then pressed the button I wanted to program (such as volume up) on the new remote.- Then (with the new remote ready), on the original TV remote pressed the button i wanted it to mimic (volume up). I found it best to do this in a darker-lit room and block interference of the light from the TV and i pressed the button on the original tv remote a few times in a row (I did it under the blanket honestly).- Press OK on the new remote after the red LED blinks on the new remote telling you it understood the button.- Then I repeated these steps for each of the other buttons.... I did these one at a time because I found doing them all at once was not actually programming them all at the same time for me.Keep in mind, the reason I think it works best in a darker room is because IR is just infrared light, it blinks the LED on the front of the remote in a pattern (like Morse code) that the TV can understand but the light is not visible to the human eye. So if the room is too bright or the tv screen is causing flickering light in the room it might be interfering with the programming sequence. You can see this happening if you point your phones camera at the front of the remote, you will actually see the light blinking.Hopefully this helps someone else trying to get them programmed for older IR tv's that may be having a hard time getting it to learn the buttons. Since it learns this way, it should be able to handle just about any IR device you want. :)

Awesome replacement!
Go into this replacement knowing that this is not an exact replacement to the Apple remote. No voice feature, no swiping/sliding, BUT it has everything else! We've got volume up and down, we've got mute, we've got an easy turn off for the TV and the Apple TV, we've got easy navigation with up, down, left, right, and enter. We previously got a remote with just a few buttons and didn't realize we were not getting full functionality. This remote is not a 1:1 replacement for the Apple TV remote. To do that you'd have to shell out $70 for a new Apple TV remote 😜 But this is a great price of about $15 and does all the essential tasks. So happy we have this economically friendly option that's *almost* as good as the original. Also there was almost no setup, it just worked. Makes me wonder if someone could just buy a remote and mess with me from out our window but for my purposes of not messing with others, this works wonders.

Functional and affordable
This remote paired instantly and provides a pretty decent line of site remote replacement for my damaged apple TV remote. The only drawbacks I'm finding is that you have to be in line of site of your TV/ Apple tv device and occasionally I have to hit the power button more than once to power up both Apple TV and my LG TV in sync. One other qualm is that I wish they had configured the buttons a little differently. The "TV/Home" button is a little outside of the other buttons and it takes a little bit of usage before you learn the layout.Overall this is a pretty good affordable replacement for the apple tv remote. Because it lacks siri, you will have to use the old fashioned single letter entry for doing searches. If you are doing a lot of searches or entering passwords, you can always use your iphone remote, but this remote will perform most of the other functions quite well

Pro tip: Make sure you're in line of site
The media could not be loaded. The one pro tip that I can give you guys is make sure that your remote is in the line of site of the Apple TV meaning that you're actually physically pointing at the TV itself. If you are not in the line of site, the remote will not pick up the signal to the TV or shall I say the Apple TV box. Otherwise this remote did the trick it works very well. I'm actually going through an update right now I highly recommend it.

Didn’t last long
Remote worked great for the first 8 months, made using the Apple TV so much easier but then it stopped working. I replaced the batteries and still nothing. Remote just went dead.

Don't waste your money on the original Apple remote
It works perfect, easy to pair, no delays at all. Thanks god I took a chance on this and didn't waste USD 100 on the original one.

Great option if you hate OEM Apple Remote
Like a lot of Apple products a lot of them fail over form vs. function - I'm looking at you power block. The standard Apple remote is too delicate, finicky and using it is just frustrating. You try and input a long password without losing your sanity so this remote was a long time in coming. It's easy to set up, the design is intuitive and overall I'm very satisfied with it. I'm happy to lose the original remote between the cushions or back of the drawer.

You need to program the remote to your specific TV (for best performance) Needs a Source button.
I did a basic setup to work with my Sony TV, but the volume speed was really slow. After following the setup steps via the QR Code/YouTube instructions (with the navigate down presses to mute) the remote worked great. The volume ramping was fast. The X button and the twin page button aren't very clear as to their functions. Look at the product description images on Amazon to learn about single, double and long press functions.I would be happier if this remote included a source button. I often need to switch to my Apple TV source after grabbing this remote, but then need to grab my TV Remote.
