Took a chance on this after trying out a bunch of different budget papers. This feels like a step between Canson XL Watercolor paper and Arches, the wood pulp performs very well and holds a lot of water. Sturdy enough to use both sides, to my delight. Light tooth to the paper, natural texture (no obvious pattern or grid like you find in a lot of budget WC paper) which surprised me, and bright white pages. For the money, this is one of the best value propositions on here. The included waterproof silicone mat is a nice bonus. I cannot believe how hight the quality of this paper is for the price.

The media could not be loaded. For the price, this sketchbook is AMAZING for my large watercolor and mixed media Journaling and practice time. There is an included silicone protective sheet to place behind the page you are working on! The paper is not high-end professional, but it is very close. Withstands a little layering and some lifting, and good with watercolor paint, watercolor pencils, gel pens and stamps. The wire binding is really sturdy, and the pages remove easily if you like. I love that the cover and back are heavy and hard, keeping the book stable as you work in it. I'm giving this 5 stars simply because I would expect to pay at least twice as much as the less than $20 I paid for it when I bought it. I have ordered 3 so far, have completed one and this item is now my go-to for daily journal painting.

Nice quality paper as I learn to watercolor. I’m doing a lot of practice and experimenting on techniques and this is perfect. Cheaper weather color paper or multi media paper doesn’t give the proper effect and frequently does hold water or color right. It buckles or pills when wet. This paper is real water color paper, it likes water! Sadly starting with the cheap stuff is discouraging for beginners.

Great for watercolor painting, Nice texture

I have been using this paper for monthly watercolor challenges. When attempting to remove the sheet from the pad it tore irregularly into the painting. This sheet was part of an exercise, so only a small disappointment. My remedy was to peel back glue at head of paper. Sheets come loose and extra loose sheets are stored for another day. I haven't used the paper for large area of wet on wet technique. Otherwise, good watercolor paper for my needs.
