Good for seeing strings for newbies
They aren’t as “live” as what I was used to, however I’m a newbie guitar player taking online lessons and the colors really have helped me “see” which string I’m trying to hit or fret or pluck etc.. They also add a festive vibe to my guitar which I love! Totally usable and sound fine, just maybe a little getting used to.

Vibrant!
These actually work very well. Tones are strong and sustained. Surprised me as I put the electric Bass version on the old 4 string and they were terrible, but in truth, the acoustics work just fine on my old cutaway dreadnought. Will buy acoustic again when needed. For a lousy player like me... the colors are just great for my bifocals to see the strings ....whenever I can find my glasses.

Fun for all ages
I put them on my beater Rogue dreadnought for giggles. They look great against the black body, and are very playable. Sound quality and tone are average, but that's not what these are all about.

Worth it. Buy them.
My favorite brand of strings that make neon strings..or colorful strings. These are a go-to. So much fun!Sound alright to me.. may be a bit easier to break but not too huge of a problem if you're an experienced musician.I highly recommend. Especially if you have multiple guitars and want to spice one up for a bit. They're priced right to me, too. Thanks so much for making these, DR! ❤🎸🎶#EOWB[...]

OK Sound, Not-so-OK Paint Job
I normally string my acoustic guitar with Elixir nano-coated strings and have never needed to try anything different. They are great strings. I recently tried the DR Neon based on my good experience with Elixir coated strings and the color novelty.Musically, the strings sound OK and stay in tune. I'll focus the remainder of my comments on the coating. After one week: [playing 30-60 minutes at a time using a combination of finger-style and light (0.20) pick]I noticed the paint chipping from the unwound strings (high E and B strings). My Ibanez guitar is black and the neon green and purple paint flecks stuck to the body and were very noticeable. No chipping noticed on the other (wound) strings. After one month:Un-wound strings continue to loose paint; wound strings still looking new. Conclusion: I would probably put DR Neons on a bass (where all strings are wound) but not on a guitar.

but after putting the strings on and tuning they sound great and look stunning with the neon
At first I was a bit apprehensive because I thought that I was paying for the color and not the sound, but after putting the strings on and tuning they sound great and look stunning with the neon. Good quality strings that stand out, I will buy again when it is time to replace
