Installed easily and is working perfectly
Replaced a 1200AX with this 1200AXi. One note is I had also swap in all the cables this AXi came with since the power supply side pins changed between the 1200AX and 1200AXi models - meaning the existing 1200AX cables in my case did not just plug in. Even having to do that, I was impressed with the quality and fit. After installation, my PC booted fine and has been fine ever since.

Question to users of the 1200 watt renewed PSU.
My 1200 is working fine. The only thing I noticed was the test light did not light up when pressed. According to Corsair this means all is working. Should I return it if it is working fine other than the test light? Well, this September and since that time all seemed to be going well...until last night. System started locking up (no keyboard /mouse) then back then locked again, then out blue the system just shut down. No BSOD just flat shut down like someone turned the power off. When I checked the system the green power light on the PSU was now red. Tried several times to restart and sometimes it would boot but would not even complete the boot cycle before systems start freeze up and or shut down completely. The moral here, like so many other reviewers, "YOU"RE TAKING A BIG CHANGE TO SAVE A FEW BUCKS". Whatever caused these units to fail in the first place has not been properly addressed by the Reseller STAY AWAY FROM THESE ITEM...STAY FAR AWAY!With that said, as always AMAZON Staff were extremely helpful. Just ordered a NEW AX1200i and will return the refurb unit today.

I like this power supply! It's quiet and efficient and I can monitor my power draw!
The headline says it all. The fact that I can monitor my power draw is awesome. One can even adjust the amount of power to individual components in the system. What?! You can switch between Single Rail or Multi Rail too. All under the an efficient 80 Plus Platinum rating. My system is also quieter than it was before as the PSU fan doens't even come on until a given point. My only concern about this PSU is longevity. As it is a "renewed" product there is that lingering fear that it will stop working sooner than later. As far as packaging is concerned, the presentation was good although somewhat generic. It came in a box labeled by Corsair, serialized and packaged well. All cables are present and the massive 3-pin power cord that showed the slightest sign of "someone has been here before". I'm powering an X79 system with an Asus Rampage IV Black Edition motherboard, an i7-4930K cpu overclocked to 4.5Ghz, 32GB of G. Skill ram, my keyboard mouse, headphones, an Nvidia Titan X Pascal, a water pump, and 18 fans (yeah, I know). The system is snappy and the power is sure. I like it a lot! I am returning this particular power supply so I can go ahead and get the AX1500i which I didn't even know existed until yesterday. I looked on Amazon and sure enough there it was. The price difference is negligible to say the least and it has a Titanium rating for power efficiency. Even if I can get 12 months out of this thing it will be worth the price I'm paying for it. Hopefully, it lasts much much longer though.

Corsair AX1200i had an overheating problem.
I reported an issue to Corsair where my computer would shut down randomly with what could only be described as an overheating issue. After checking everything else I notices that the PSU temperatures were rising but that the fan would not start. Using the Corsair software I was able to manually set the fan to run constantly and my shut down issues went away. I called Corsair to talk to them about a warranty replacement since my PSU was about 11 months old with a 1 year warranty. After several troubleshooting steps they determined the PSU needed to be replaced. My specific PSU was the AX1200i, which has since been discontinued. They offered me a replacement with a HX1200i but I was concerned on it's ability to fit properly in my case. I asked if they would be willing to upgrade the PSU to the AX1500i and offered to pay the $50 difference. Without hesitation Corsair agreed to send me the AT1500i at no additional charge. As I did not have a standby PSU, I opted in to the Rapid Replacement program where they sent me the replacement before I sent the return. This option is only available if you are willing to pay the retail price of the equipment to ensure that Corsair gets the old PSU back. Once Corsair receives the defective part they refund the funds back to the method you used to pay.I got the new PSU and Installed it. As Corsair wants the cables from the old PSU, I had to remove all the cables and re-cable everything which although was a pain it was expected and acceptable.Except for one minor glitch (likely due to the holidays) with a late refund the entire experience was very good and my new PSU is running cool without issue.

Hot mess, quite literally. Will likely fail at the worst possible moment..
This pile of fail died in a week. It runs hot, and when it gets hot, it shuts off from heat, right in the middle of whatever you're doing, in my case, it's editing... Not good, not good at all. I've got a full-size Corsair Obsidian case with no less than eleven fans and it still overheats. Also, to hook up the special features, it wants its own USB header, just like the Corsair AIO CPU cooler...No help from Corsair... This is the AXi line, supposedly their best. A 1200w PSU with a 830w load, and it can't hold it.Amazon will take it back, but won't send anything else until they receive this one back... Crap service from both. The Amazon rep let it slip that they're having a lot of problems with these things, but they're still selling them (I guess that's why they dropped the price a lot).No help from Corsair... then no more Corsair products for us.
