Good knife, very handy.
A nice, small carry knife. It's almost unnoticeable in your pocket. It has a good clip for attaching to the top of a pocket. Nice and sharp, with a good secure liner lock. It seems to be quite sturdy too. One of my favorite knives.

Amazing knife
This knife is amazing. Price point is great and quality of product is superb. This is my second purchase of this knife. If I hadn't lost my first I wouldn't have needed a second. The first lasted around 2 years keeping a solid edge before i lost it.

Luzon Medium, takes a little work
Like me start off by saying that I also own the Luzon XL, which I consider an excellent knife. It came stupid sharp out of the box, it opens easily both with the thumb tab and as a flipper. The lockup is positive and solid. The liner lock is easy to access and easy to manipulate. I found it lightweight, well balanced and a joy to use. For a "budget knife" it's a well made beastie. Now on to the Luzon Medium. At first glance it looks like Cold Steel tried to make a scaled down version of the Luzon XL. Operative word is "tried". They failed miserably. True, the edge is stupid sharp and it is a good looking knife, but that's all I can say for it. The thumb stud is next to impossible to use, and the flipper is downright painful to use. Using the liner lock to close the knife, well forget it. It's a machosists dream. Talk about painful. Added to the pain, the lockup is inconsistent. I bought it to use as a utility knife, but what use is an edc utility knife if you can't get the bloody thing open reliably? I sincerely doubt Lynn Thompson was involved in the design of this knife.Shame on you Cold Steel.***********************************************************(edited 6/16/2024)In my original review I was very critical of how stiff the knife was in opening it. After having and using this knife for a bit I have to change my opinion. Put a few drops of oil at the pivot and work it open and closed, it will eventually loosen up and you will find this knife is your new bestest edc buddy. I absolutely LOVE this knife now and use it even in the kitchen. I highly recommend it. It even makes a good whittler!

Flipper knife
This is a flipper opening knife. When folded, you will see a blade extension tab that sticks out a bit through the backside of the handle. You can open it with one hand, if you have a strong thumb, by putting your thumb on top of that little tab, and flicking it downward firmly using a motion similar to flicking a lighter. The blade is not spring loaded at all, it relies on the strength of your thumb to open. If your thumb isn't quite up to the task, I found that giving it a little well timed 'flick' usually does the trick.Locks with a liner lock, and has a secondary 'safety' lock you can engage after it is open, to give extra security from closing. Compared to other knives I have seen in this price range, the lock seems a bit stouter than average, the blade has a better than average factory edge, and it seems precisely made. Blade steel seems good for the price point. The blade is quite 'pointy' so it would be good for precision work, more than camp knife type chores. I have both sizes. The small one is a very practical size, and fits in a pocket well. The large one is BIG, about as large as practical for general use. The large one is almost more conversation piece than tool, as when a knife gets that large, I would prefer a fixed blade and stouter blade for camp knife use. It still opens with one hand, and is wicked sharp, though. Both are well made, but the small one is far more practical for day to day use.

Very good knife at a great price
I go through pocket knives like socks because I carry one at all times and I end up losing them pretty often, so I've bought a bunch of different ones, and this is my favorite. It came razor sharp right out of the box, it flips open smoothly and easily, plus the blade is a little longer than most. I like the way the end of the blade is shaped so I can wedge it in tight spaces when I'm trying to cut of zip ties. It's light too, and possibly my favorite feature is that they pocket clip is a very thick piece of plastic, so it doesn't bend when it gets caught on something, which is how I end up losing all my knives with a metal clip, once you bend it, it'll never clip tightly again. Very solid buy.

Very good and inexpensive
This is an almost perfect knife for its price. Everything works fine and although the savants say it s is low end steel, its performance is almos the same as the 440C, which has always been fine to me.It opens and locks very well and comes sharp enough. It has only one defect, and that is that it is very hard to fold, and impossible with one hand. The liner lock does not always yield easily, so that you have to use both hands and a couple of seconds. This has also happened to me with o couple of other Chinese Cold Steel knives. I suppose this imperfection is the "Chines tax", but hey! it is just a pocket knife and very good overall. For U$ 30...
