After initial great impression, had AM band problem, but got excellent support
I finally got the radio installed and there was a problem, but the company handling was so good I’m keeping the 5 star rating.Once installed I couldn’t get the radio to stop on any AM stations and it sometimes completely shut down, black screen. I emailed support, they responded quickly, with excellent English, had me try a couple of things then rapidly said they were going to express a replacement unit, which was delivered in less than 48 hours. They also sent a PDF of a much better manual.Once I got the new unit it too wouldn’t let me select any AM station, but it didn’t shut-down like the previous defective one.Solution: Turns out some units were sent out with a European AM configuration which is different than the USA one. In the US, AM stations have 10khz between them but in Europe there is a 9khz separation. I suspect others may have received units with this problem too!Solution is easy. Get into HOME screen, select SETUP, then scroll down several items until you see Radio Area. You will see what the radio is set to and can change it if wrong. Select either USA 1 or USA 2. Radio now works great and am happy. Support experience was excellent.Original Review: This is a preliminary review since I need to get wiring harness adapter before I can complete the install.First thing I noticed is that this unit has some weight and is considerably larger than the unit I'm replacing. Old unit 5" screen model weighed 1lb 8oz and extends 4" into the radio cavity where as this one weighs 3lbs 4os and extends 6.5" into the cavity. Feels really solid.I hooked it up to 12V power to do a bench test. When powered on really liked logical and clearly labeled button layout. Press the 'Flip' button and the screen comes out and it is SMOOTH and rock solid, just gentle sound of motor. No clicking and jerking like I've seen in some others. Press the 'Angle' button and you can adjust the tilt. It offered to setup Android Auto - and it was so simple I had it running in 30 seconds! Suspect CarPlay will be similar. Navigation screen is a huge improvement over my previous one which was so hard to read I felt it was dangerous to use.INCLUDES AM RADIO! Note most of these units not have AM radios, but this one does and it is something I use often.Drawbacks: Manual is terrible and illustrations are for a different double-din unit. Entire page 6 about steering wheel controls is exactly repeated on page 8 and 10. It is good enough to understand the functions but button layout is different than illustrations. A positive is that interface is logical enough you you probably won't need to often refer back to manual. Will expand this review after I get harness adapter and complete the install.

responsive and sounds good with the right speakers!
I had been looking for a single DIN stereo that worked with wireless CarPlay and had a pop out screen for the 55 Ford truck that my son and I are building. I had got a couple of these android touchscreen stereos for some of our other vehicles and thought, how cool would it be When we show this truck for people to look down in the console that we built and see a screen with a backup camera.I will say that the stereo works excellent. The screen is extremely responsive and the motors pull the screen in and out nice and easy the back up camera looks good, but the problem is is the console. We have built where the antique air vents stick out don’t allow the screen to go into a natural position. The screen kind of just points to where we can’t see it in the truck at all. I’m probably gonna have to have a custom console built to have it put in because I like this stereo so much I want to work in the truck. And I want to be clear this not working in the truck is an error on the console that we built for the truck in order to have air conditioning and a stereo without having to cut the dash and remove the stock stereo that’s original in this truck and actually still works. The stereo work flawlessly and it sounded good with the 6 1/2 inch kicker speakers we had in the doors and after we get a new console custom-made so where this will open up correctly, it will be going right back in the truck. I’m extremely happy with it. It works good. The screen is very responsive. The backup camera gives us a great picture And it makes this 1955 so much more modern! I would 100% recommend this to replace an old stereo in an old car!

Underpowered for the price?
As of currently, I’m pretty mixed. Functionality is good, the radio itself is exactly what I’m looking for with the functions it provides, the flip works great, the screen is pretty responsive outside of Apple CarPlay. The connectivity of Bluetooth CarPlay has given me some issues, but nothing crazy. My biggest concern is the clipping and distortion of the audio, and I know for sure it’s not my speakers cause the head unit/radio I had in there 2 days ago worked perfectly. I’m gonna go back through my wiring today and make sure my connections are all stable for the head unit wiring loom, but if that doesn’t work, use caution if you’re trying to power 4 door speakers and a set of tweeters from this radio, without the use of an amplifier. I will update this if it was an error on my part, as an audiophile sound quality is very important to me, and for the price paid I believe this radio should be able to have enough power to thump my (not very power intensive) system.EDIT: I ordered the radio not realizing that it was a 55w output radio, when my last radio was a 200w. Obviously that’s a big difference when you’re talking about powering 6 speakers. Part of me wishes that this was a little bit more prevalent on their advertising but I definitely should have thought about it so that parts on me. Ended up installing a 1000w 4-channel amp that I had lying around, and wow. The features it has in terms of audio mixing are pretty damn good for the price point. Still sad I had to install an amp to make it work like it should but it is what it is. Changed to 4/5 stars. May update again in 6 months or so on if anything’s broken at that point.
