Eberlestock ButtBucket Bow/Gun Carrier w/Ripcord

I've only used this product on an Eberlestock X2 backpack while bowhunting, and I'm pretty unimpressed with it. The bucket is somewhat convenient for supporting the bow at a consistent height, but ripcord system is totally ineffective when it comes to keeping a bow from being stable side to side unless you happen to be (sarcasm alert) hunting on completely flat ground and never have to turn, lean, stoop down, and so on to get to your target.In all seriousness though, this item is not really worth the cost. But if you have a X2 pack and absolutely must buy this Eberlestock accessory for it, then you are better off using the straps that connect the two batwing pouches to hold your bow laterally. I bought this to attach to my Eberlestock Just One pack. I attached it as the directions stated. It looked good enough but it looked like the bucket part sat far too low and was too shallow to hold a bow securely. I took it out hunting and my fears were correct. The bow would not stay put and the bow continually fell out and I ended up just lashing my bow to the pack. I am a fan of Eberlestock products but this is a big swing and a miss. I returned it for a refund and will just use a standard bow sling or lash my bow to my pack in the future.

This is a great idea for a bow, but it says that it can be used with a rifle... When I set it up and you tubed and looked on their website to make sure I'm doing it right, I couldn't get my rifle to stay without it tipping over. The bow works perfectly with this. I would suggest to market this only to the use of stowing your bow.

The instructions for attaching the bucket to your pack and using the ripcord are lacking. I got a great deal on a Eberlestock destroyer, thought it was worth it, I'm now saving for a Kifaru or Stone Glacier pack.
