tea that’s good for your health
The 10-year aged tea is really tasty. It certainly has a require taste, but once you are used to it. It tastes really good. Nice aroma, smooth. I can drink it on an empty stomach without any issues. Highly recommended.

Lovely Tea
This is a lovely tea that deserves a tea ceremony. It’s exquisitely packaged . My husband unpacked the box when the tea first arrived, he exclaimed from the other room “I didn’t know you ordered cigars, maybe we got someone else’s package.” As you can see in the pictures, a lot of trouble went into presenting this tea.You get a solid pressurized brick of tea that has been aged for ten years and compressed to remove moisture when drying so it lasts. It looks like tobacco and has a nice, pleasant scent. You also get a color pamphlet with instructions in Chinese and English that says to use approximately 6 grams of loose leaf tea per 150 ounces (half mug) of water. That is a lot of tea.I wasn’t sure how to make the tea loos because the brick is so hard. My bread knife cut ½ inch thick strip along the side of the brick which was hard work and didn’t cut straight and then grated with the edge of the breadknife. I think you need something like a rasp to do it properly. It made quite a mess but I put 120 grams in my 64oz thermos diffuser with boiling water and let it brew for a couple of hours. This keeps the water hot for a long brew which gets all the flavor out of what would normally be two teabags of tea. This worked and the tea is wonderful. It looks very dark like coffee but is nice and smooth with a pleasing mild flavor. It tastes a bit like slightly sweet black tea but without the bitterness and is very pleasant to drink. My husband and I quite enjoyed this and it would make a great gift for the discerning tea drinker in your life.

Pretty good Pu-erh for the money
I like this Pu-erh a lot. It has a complex flavor with a mild sweet aftertaste to it. It is smooth and mellow. A little earthly and woodsy. Pretty easy to drink. It comes in a compressed brick form. Just use a metal butter knife to chip off a small chunk and brew it in a tea infuser. I steep 1 tsp of it in 8 oz. cup of 180°F water for about 2 minutes. It can be re-steeped a couple of more times. This comes wrapped in paper inside a highly presentable, gift box. The brick of tea is small but densely compressed. It is a ripe Pu-erh that has been aged for 10 years. The tea leaves apparently comes Yunnan, China and processed in Taiwan. The quality seems good and fresh. All in all, this is a good ripe Pu-erh and the price is reasonable. It is worth giving it a try. Pretty good Pu-erh for the price.

Mostly twigs
I thought I would give this tea a try because it's labeled as organic and there were several good reviews, plus the age that is stated is 10+ years so that's usually a good thing. But the tea is mostly twigs, not enough leaves. The resulting flavor is pretty weak for a pu ehr. It's okay and drinkable, but if I could return it, I would.

It tastes bad, but the worst is it gives me stomachache 3 times, on 3 times I try
If you like to drink a liquid which tastes likes mud then you might like it. Granted I have no prior experience so maybe it’s supposed to taste likes this. I don’t know. But the worst thing is it gave me diarrhea 3 times, on 3 different times I’d tried. The next to worst thing is it’s non returnableSo, I just wasted my money on a useless brick (literally)

use a tea needle or tea knife to separate the tea
Puerh is a traditional and popular form of tea in China that is starting to become popular in the USA. You can buy puerh in either loose leaf form and compressed brick form like this one. If you buy the brick form, Chinese people traditionally use a special tea knife (sometimes called a tea needle) to separate the tea into smaller pieces for brewing. Amazon sells these tea knifes for inexpensive prices or you can use a steak knife. The basic idea is to poke the brick with your knife to chip away pieces of the tea for brewing. You can find video demonstrations on YouTube. This particular product is pretty good puerh tea. This tea is fermented and aged green tea so it has a more earthy flavor and rich aroma than the more common fresh green teas. There are brewing instructions in the package. I advise using a scale to measure the tea since your pieces of tea from the brick may be too uneven to accurately measure with a spoon.

Aged 10 years with strips of some hair
This is my first ever review on Amazon and I wish it was something more positive.I was really excited about this brand and being aged over 10 years, so I gave it a try.Great tea, until I found this giant strip of thick pubic-like hair compressed inside of it... On the picture you can only see the half of it, because the rest is buried in the brick.I took time to do a small research and this company really seemed reliable. Tea was good, but I had to throw it out after seeing this. I hope this was just a small mistake

Requires A Lot of Tea Per Cup
Per the instructions inside the box, a 5 ounce cup of tea requires 6g of tea and 150cc of water. To me, that’s a lot of tea for just a little over a half cup, but I had read that fine Chinese teas benefit from a lot of leaf in small pots. To my surprise, the tea was smooth, dark like coffee and had the characteristic earthy, woodsy, and mildly smoky aroma. After a second steeping, the tea maintained its characteristics and was pleasant to drink. In order to get the leaves from the compressed brick, I chipped away with a butter knife and mallet because I didn’t have a tea needle to pick away the leaves. Because this process is messy, I highly recommend a mat or tray to collect all the stray leaves and crumbs.Although the brick’s labeled weight is 250g, when I weighed the cake, it’s only 231g with the paper covering.Storing the tea in the box allows the tea to age further without picking up nearby odors allowing the drinker to taste the changes in the tea as it ages.
