I don't see an AM/FM feature. Does that mean it is not made to control my amplifier/tuner?

Once your amp/rcvr is programmed in you can select that button - (to focus control on the receiver) then go down to the 'input' button to toggle between receiver functions until you get to the AM/FM feature.

Is there a (Volume) MUTE button on this remote? Cannot see a dedicated button in the photograph, and that probably my most used button ;)

I just bought this remote, and I can confirm that it has a Mute button. The remote in the photo has two white buttons between the "VOL" and "CH" buttons, labeled (top to bottom) "MENU" and "RECALL". However the one I received has two white buttons between VOL and CH labeled "RECALL" and "MUTING". I'm thinking the one in the photo was defective since there's a black MENU right above the white MENU button. On my remote, MUTING is indeed activating the Mute function on the Kenwood receiver I programmed it to control.

does this remote work for a samsung tv?

Yes, it works with my SAMSUNG 4K HDTV I purchased in 2016. All basic functions work, however not as well as the original remote. There does not seem to be direct access to the app menu but "input" gets you close enough.
