Amazing morals for kids in a society where they only learn them at home
A treasure! Pleasantly surprised by this book. I love all the areas of manners in focuses on- well rounded and complete. I like that there are various lengths of stories- from a short poem to a longer excerpt from a book. My kids are 3 and 5 and some stories may still be a bit above their head but they get many of them and it’s a book I will save for my grandchildren- I love it that much! Buy it!

Best book on the market!
Other than the Bible and Catechism, this is the best book on the market. It is absolutely wonderful! I read it to my children every night. Definitely will be a book kept in my family for generations! Even bought a copy for a friend and my other friends had it as well.

So sweet
This is my favorite book I’ve bought for my son. We homeschool & he just started reading & I decided to get him a devotional book & I am so grateful I went with this one. The story’s are so great & I love listening to them too.

Amazing
We started with the George Washington and the cherry tree story, my children (twins age 5 1/2, and 3 year old) loved it! They also ask me to repeat the poems(standing in the corner, as the flag goes by). We've had it for a couple of weeks now, and everytime I open it, it's a treasure! This is a must. I had it in my cart for a long time and wish I would have bought it sooner. This book is DELIGHTFUL!!! Highly recommend!

Good idea with good stories... more for older kids
I love the idea of this book- using great literature to illustrate points of good behavior. The author does a great job achieving this. What I found frustrating, though, was that in most cases the reader is given only a chapter, or even just part of a chapter, of a book like LIttle Women or Anne of Green Gables. If your children are not familiar with these books, you will have to spend some time explaining all that has happened to lead up to the point being presented.Otherwise, if you don't know the whole story, it is very hard to appreciate fully the example given.Also- having only a tiny part of the story frustrated my children. They were upset when the chapter ended and wanted to hear more of each story. And that is fine, and even good- inspiring us to read the whole book later- but it did make us "lose the moment", so to speak.I think this book would be excellent for older children or teenagers who already are familiar with Anne of Green Gables and her friend Diana Barry, who know their history in Avonlea and can immediately connect with the chapter presented. Or who already have read The Iliad or Hans Brinker.Otherwise- why not just read the whole of Hans Brinker? or LIttle Women? or any of these books? They are excellent stories, full of many examples of good morals and good manners that could be discussed along the way.

Wonderful addition to our morning basket!
Such a great find for me. I saw it recommended on one of Charlotte Mason websites and bought it. I think this book is timeless and for all ages. My olders is 4. She would love pictures. But the stories are so short, and she just loves them.Great way to teach manners and truths. So worth every penny that we paid for it.

Great stories for all kids
Love adding this to our morning read aloud. The mixture of poetry and classic literature is captivating and short enough to maintain the attention of even our youngest homeschooler (3 year old).
