Q: where is the driver side actuator?

On 2011 taurus, there are 4 actuators. One behind glove box, one to left of glovebox, and 2 on left side of radio underneath the driver side. One of these two is real high up and you have to remove instrument cluster to get at the screws. Glove box controls outside blend air, left of glovebox controls passenger air, bottom by driver controls driver air and top by driver controls defrost, vent, floor mode. This is for dual zone temp control models.

Durable product, saves money!

Device was inexpensive and is working great. Not an easy install on my Ford Explorer so be sure to check out YouTube videos for helpful tips beforehand. Fit was perfect and appears durable!

Quality?

The quality is definitely questionable. I purchased this item 9 mos. ago and teeth on the gear are already breaking down. It will remain to be seen as I purchased the exact same item to test again. It's fortunate that access for replacement is not limited and the simplicity of the project makes it worth another try.

This aftermerket part didn't last long...

This HVAC Blend Door Actuator didn't last 4 months in my wife's Flex, I'm sorry to say and I found it difficult to find. I'm not even sure this part from the manufacturer would be much better.I like the old vacuum systems much better than electronic plastic motors, but I guess I'm just an old mechanic wishing for the old days!I wish I could have given this a better review, but it could have at least lasted for a year!
