These things are amazingly heat and fire resistant. (I learned that when I left one up against one a gas stove flame for a minute or so before I smelled it. It only singed the corner.) They work amazingly well. You can hold hot items for quite awhile before you notice.Things to know however!The price is for ONE. You need to buy another if you want two.They're extremely effective, but if you expect the suppleness of a cheap consumer grade oven mitt you'll probably be disappointed. It's totally worth it though, if you have the money and want a super high quality mitt.It's a little annoying sometimes when the magnets stick them together when you grab them off the counter to put on and pull something out of the oven quickly. However, this annoyance is worth it to me, for the convenience of them at most other times.

This is a great oven mitt. If you want to be protected, this is the best mitt. It is large, but that is positive. If you want a small cute mitt to hang up that doesn't allow you to hold 500+ degrees for more than 2 econds, then don’t buy this. I use these to pull cast iron off of the grill, move scalding insta pot, and pull broiled items out of the oven. Have never had an issue - i can carry 600+ degree cast iron from the grill outside to my kitchen and this is the only item that can withstand that time and heat. Yes they ate big and bulky, but that equals protection - they are tested by NSF. Note you only get one mitt per package so you have to buy two. Worth the money.

Pros: These are excellent. They insulate your hands from hot objects much better than the cheap pot holders I had before. They're long enough to cover about 1/2 of my forearm so an accidental splash or brush with the oven door doesn't result in a small burn. They have magnets which is very convenient. Mine live on the fridge door.Cons: According to the washing instructions, the magnets will fall off after 100 washes, which is not ideal for a product used to handle food and require frequent washing. This particular model is a little baggy on my hands which can make gripping items a little harder than I'd like. Next time, I'd look for a smaller size, if that exists.Overall: I'd highly recommend these.

Bought this oven mitt because of a review. Works like a charm. Handling hot pans, trays, or creusets with no problem: you don't feel the heat. I thought maybe the tray was cool, so I tried an older mitt and almost dropped the pan. Pan was very hot and could feel the heat radiating through the glove.Only issues I have with the oven mitt is I should've got the longer one that goes up to your elbow for more protection, the gloves are a little bulky (because of more protective material), and there's a small magnet on the side that frequently sticks to stove tops or toaster ovens.NOTE: label says the oven mitt is good for about 24 (machine) washings before it loses its heat resistance and you have to throw it out.

Seriously, this thing is massive. Let me be clear that I HAVE BIG HANDS. I am a 6' 2", 200 lb. man. I can palm a basketball with ease. The packaging claims "One Size Fits Most". These must have been manufactured with the average grizzly bear in mind. I had my wife in mind, and she has relatively small hands.The 13" length of this mitt compares in length to your average off-the-shelf oven mitt. In photos, it looks shorter. That's due to it's massive girth. I can fit both of my hands, and my wife's hands in this thing all at the same time. More problematic is the length of the thumb. It extends a full inch-and-a-half past the end of my thumb when I'm wearing it, making it prone to getting stuck in my food. The humongous size of this mitt makes it basically fall off my hand. I'm not saying it does that when I point my hand straight down and try to let it fall off, I'm saying that when I'm trying to use it, it slips off my hand, seriously jeopardizing my food and my own safety. I tried using it with a few of my All-Clad pots and some pans, and everything was slipping out of my hands.As other reviewers have commented, be sure you realize when ordering that these are sold individually, NOT in pairs. I cannot comment as to the effectiveness of the heat insulation, but I'm sure it's good as advertised. Unfortunately, I'll be returning mine, as the fit is just absurd.

I don't know what possessed me to see if these were still available online, but since they are, I will be buying another pair--just in case. I have a pair of the 15" oven mitts that are now 11 years old, and still work great! I can't believe the quality. We cook and bake a lot, so they do get used. I love it when something is built to last, and these are built to last. They may be your last set of oven mitts if you're not a kitchen professional.
