Nice glasses, Italian quality, glass and polarized.

TL;DR: Prefer new Wayfarers for fit, durable for active use, reasonable lens replacement cost, effective lens gradient.Reviewing sunglasses is subjective, but I've been particularly pleased with the fit of the new Wayfarer style, which is slightly smaller than the original and suits my face better. I use them for both casual wear and during outdoor activities like running and coaching. This is my second pair; my first pair, which I've had for two years, is still in good shape despite cracked lenses (due to my own mishap).I appreciated the first pair enough to buy a backup while looking into lens repair options. The polarized replacement lenses from Luxottica are quite affordable at around $59, shipped. The crystal/glass lenses with a blue to brown fade are practical for driving, providing darker coverage at the top and lighter at the bottom for easy dashboard viewing.These sunglasses have endured rough handling, including being tossed in a backpack, dropped, and even stepped on, yet they still retain their shape and fit. The tortoise frame has a nice matte finish, and the hinges have remained firm, albeit slightly looser, over time. The glass lenses offer clear visibility and excellent polarization, showing minimal scratches even after extensive use.Overall, I'm satisfied with my initial purchase and reassured by having a backup. Their popularity also gives me confidence in the availability of replacement lenses in the future.

Good quality and comfortable, doesnt scratch or hurt the backs of your ears

This is my second set of Ray Bans. I purchased the first about 1985 and wore them for years, having to give them up as my eyes hit middle age. I missed wearing GOOD sunglasses, the prescription alternative just dosen't cut it. Until recently contacs had for a while allowed me to wear the Aviators, but the regular contacts, or the mono vision contacts just didn't work. I tried the multifocal and they work wonderfully. I brought my Aviators out of retirement, but decided to update. After going over all the Ray Ban site, I settled on the New Wayfarer. They did not disappoint. Fit great right out of the box. Looking forward to years of use from them. (PS I'm keeping the old Avaitor glasses for working ourside).

It was the best internet deal that I could find anywhere. Tip: I found this amazing Amazon offer good for 30 days upon submission under Shoes & Accessories. This promo worked for sunglasses after I received a 16 digit code by e-mail. This discount puts the net price at nearly 48% off the Ray-Ban published $180 list price. Shipping was free under Amazon Prime and as expected took 2 days. Local state sales tax was extra. The details indicated it was sold by: Amazon LLC. No other third party like Sunglass Express or Paris Miki Optical was named as seller.One careful note similar to a previous review: Matte Havana is darker than Tortoise. Luckily, I saw the Matte Havana at a local optical store beforehand and would have been surprised by the ad photo, which is lighter in color and probably Tortoise instead. Web photos of Matte Havana would probably show up nearly black. Also, the lens description of Blue Green Mirror Polarized matched the received product. However, the written description never said anything about Gradient, which is very evident in the actual sunglasses. This is why I only rated this product 4 out of 5 stars.How do I know they are authentic? The RB written initials were laser etched into the left lens. Ray-Ban P was imprinted in white written letters on the right lens. Ray-Ban was engraved into the button of the sunglass case. The saddle brown case even smelled like real Italian leather. The black Ray-Ban seal was silk-screened perfectly on the left side of the case. The `R' in Ray-Ban was correctly done with the small triangle midway on the left side of the 'R'. I double checked the polarization with my LCD watch by rotating the glasses horizontally and vertically. The time was totally non-visible in one direction and visible in the other direction. All of the white lettering inside both arms was clearly legible and correctly imprinted. The gold Ray-Ban letters were nicely raised on both temple arms. The CE mark and word Polarized was written on the right arm. As expected, the lens width was 55mm, lens height was 40mm and bridge width was 18mm. This pair of sunglasses was made in Italy and designed well, due to the weight of glass lenses, correct polarization and sturdy hinges.I believe the sunglasses are authentic and will be keeping them. When I placed my order, I knew there were only 8 reviews for this item (some less than positive), whereas 1300+ reviews for another Ray-Ban 1232 item. Since I knew about Amazon's liberal return policy, I took minimal risk for a great deal.

Fits perfectly, quite comfortable during daylight, yet not discovered advantages of “P”, but exactly what I need.
