Also, if you have older or metal traps be careful because concentrated amounts of sodium hydroxide can eat trough age related thinning of pipes. I have used used many times but also with a snake as I have found a clog form near a hardening formation. The sodium will help with the clog now but the but the snake is insurance for the future.Phil
