Why did you pick this product vs others?:These things are a MUST HAVE during the summer months, or any month you spend time outside! I don't have any standing water, so I make my own in a small bucket with water and a little yard waste. I only use a 1/4 of a dunk at a time and they work like a charm killing the larvae and thus limiting the amount of mosquitoes in my yard/house. These last at least a month and I don't have to worry about covering myself in smelly bug spray. It is a great value for what I get in return: a backyard that is safe to spend time in!

Effective and passive way to control mosquitoes in my yard. Iit prevents mosquitoes from breeding and multiplying. I place two bins in the dark areas of the backyard, early spring before mosquitoes start breeding. Fill it halfway with water then drop half a dunk on each. That's enough to keep the population of mosquitoes down to the point where we can tolerate being outdoors for long periods. Check the bins once a month to make sure it has water. It's always a surprise to see no larvae exist in the water even if the top is filled with unhatched mosquito eggs. I've been doing it for the past 6 years.You have to make all other breeding areas are drained of water so the mosquitoes will only use the areas that has the dunk.

i honestly dont know if they work because the skeeters are horrendous where i live in the midwest. ive made 4 dunks of death in my 3/4 acre yard and some lowes buckets. but i still have to cover my body 100% just to water my garden and they even try to bite my eyeballs. how do you know if they work if the mosquitos are so thick.. ? helps me think im doing something to deter them if anything its probably mental,.

After a month I figured I would write a review based on my experience so far.I bought these after reading a few articles about them. Seemed like a great inexpensive solution. I live on a very dense green belt in the Pacific Northwest that has a creek a few hundred feet away as well. Every year, we have a terrible mosquito problem by May.I filled two five gallon buckets (placed on both ends of the yard) about 3/4 of the way full and dropped some organic matter in the bucket, things like grass clippings, leaves, etc. Then I simply dropped the dunk into it.A few days later, I saw larvae in the water. The mosquitoes definitely seemed attracted to it, and so far we have not had any moquitos around or bites. Success so far. I will update if things change.

These mosquito dunks were a godsend! We recently bought a 2-acre property requiring indoor and outdoor renovations and some old concrete multi-tiered bird baths were left behind. They were so full of stagnant standing water and leaf litter that hundreds of mosquito larvae were visibly squirming about adjacent to our driveway. Within just a few hours, I already saw results and within 24-48 hours, ultimate effectiveness had been obtained. Now I’m able to immediately clean out the fountain bowls without releasing hundreds of almost mosquitos into the flowerbed.I didn’t notice any sort of detectable odor and my dogs did not seem interested in investigating these dunks once I had them placed. One of the clear covers arrived loose along the cardboard edge, so some of the dust had spilled out and escaped, but I’ve been so impressed with the results that I’d definitely purchase them again!

I used it at home with the potting mix and tried to get rid of the small black insects, after breaking them down into pieces or powder, and watering the plant normally. There is no significant change in the insects #. still a lot of them swarming around.

I like this product because its environmentally safe and won't harm birds or beneficial insects. These are easy to break into pieces for smaller containers (bird bath), and don't smell. Very simple, safe and effective.

Was not sure if this stuff would work or not. I got a bucket and filled it with water. Broke a dunk into 4 pieces and threw a piece in the bucket and put the bucket on my back patio. The week before I did this there were easily 50 mosquitoes buzzing around. A week later there are no mosquitoes. I can literally sit outside all day and not get bit. I put in a new piece of dunk every two weeks. As it gets hotter and dryer my bucket of water is the only open source of water so I’m sure it gets lots of eggs.
