Fruits, Veggies, Nuts, Oats - it does it ALL!
**Update**The juicer is still as awesome as when we first began juicing with it. No problems out of it at all. I’ve recently started making nut milks and oat milk in my juicer and it has been amazing. Cow’s Milk bothers my stomach so I need alternatives. The nut and oat milks from the store can be terribly expensive, so I watched a few videos on YouTube on how to make nut milk and oat milk with my juicer and it worked like a charm. The amount of milk I can make for the price I spend on the oats or nuts that I use is great. This juicer has paid for itself many times over and we’ve only had it for just under a year. Still very satisfied.********************This juicer is amazing! Wow! The pics I’ve submitted from this review is when I first started using it. But since those pics, I’ve juiced a ton of fruits and veggies. The fruit and veggie in the pic is kale, apples and ginger.Let me start by saying I’m no expert in juicing. I’m new to this juicing life but I feel really good about my purchase. I did extensive research and decided I wanted a masticating juicer as opposed to a centrifugal one. Once I figured that out I did more research and decided on the Omega VSJ843QS.Fruits/Veggies - I’ve read some reviews about it having trouble juicing soft fruits but I’ve juiced blueberries, strawberries, grapes, watermelon, kiwi, pineapple, oranges and pears. No problem. The only soft fruit I had trouble juicing was a soft mango (peeled of course). It does exceptionally well with hard or root veggies like beets and carrots. It does great with apples (peeled or skin on). It does great with cucumbers, ginger, you name it. I haven’t done wheatgrass yet but it does great with kale.Pulp - For the most part the pulp comes out dry. Some softer fruits the pulp is still somewhat wet. I’ll take wet pulp and run it through again and that typically pulls a little more juice out. I’ve noticed that pineapples work well if you’re not juicing the whole thing. It will juice an entire pineapple but it clogs. I find myself having to uses the little brush that comes with it to dig the jammed pulp out of the exit chamber. It’s tedious but it will juice the whole pineapple.Yield - I get pretty good yields out of my produce. I can tell based on how dry the pulp is when it comes out. That being said, it still takes a decent amount of fruit and veggies to get more than 15 oz of juice. Some fruits produce more foam than others but this juicer is not “foam free”. I don’t particularly mind the foam but I know it can be an issue for some people. It can easily be removed off the top of the juice with a cake spatula or a spoon.Cleanup- the clean up is fairly simple. But it has a 8 individual pieces that you’ll be cleaning after every juicing session. The “auto-clean” feature isn’t really “auto-clean”. You simply pour water into the juicer while it’s on so the water can flush the auger and screen free of any left over pulp. Once you disassemble the juicer (a really simple process) it will still need to be rinsed and washed thoroughly. But the auto-clean feature makes it easier to clean it manually.Assembly - Easy. All of the parts can look intimidating but they all fit together easily. It comes with simple instructions that you’ll have no trouble following and putting it together is a breeze. All in all, this juicer was an investment for us. I’ve used it daily since purchasing it and the fact that it has a 15 year warranty is mind blowing to me. It lets me know that we’ll have it for a long time. I’m very satisfied with this appliance.

READ THIS IF YOU ARE STARTING TO RESEARCH JUICERS
UPDATE 3.15.2017I should have updated this post sooner. I was able to send the Juicer back to Omega directly and they took care of replacing it ASAP. Excellent customer service, great and fast response time. The replacement blender has worked flawlessly since we received it back in October, so about 5 1/2 months now. Omega can't be beat for customer service and responsiveness, this should give anyone the confidence to buy their products. Had I read through the warranty I would have seen the company backs up their products for over ten years. I doubt I will still be using my juicer that long - hoping that technology moves better solutions forward by then!UPDATE 8.8.2016 Two months after purchaseI have purchased hundreds of items from Amazon over the past couple of years and never wirte reviews. I was pretty happy with the initial performance of the Omega VERT slow juicer and so busted out a quick raving 5 star review. Now only two months later the juicer is broken and in a box, never to be used again, the seller only had a 30 day warranty. If you plan on using a juicer with any frequency, plan on buying another juicer and not from this seller. I had high hopes for this juicer only to be very, very disappointed in its acutal lack of performance. Save yourself the time and money and look for a horizontal auger type juicer, they last longer. ***************************Omega VERT Slow Juicer VSJ843QS, Square Version, Silver. We have a small beverage business and fresh press our organic fruits and roots. Over the past two years we have used the Omega J8006 and tried the Breville JE98XL Juice Fountain Plus. Our goal is to have as much pure juice and the least amount of pulp or residual byproduct in the juice, so we are willing to take more time to achieve this result. While the Breville is a great machine and probably good for someone juicing for personal health purposes, it had too much pulp and a lot of it was too wet. The Omega J8006 has been a staunch work horse, but after a year the parts started wearing out. Omega's customer service is top notch however and has been very helpful in getting us replacement screens at no additional cost to us. The OJ8006 finally broke down a few days ago so we are sending the base unit back to Omega as they have a 7 or 10 year warranty. In the mean time I did a Yuge, huge, HUGE amount of research looking for a replacement and came up with the Omega VERT Slow Juicer VSJ843QS. I will spare you the details, only because I don't have the time to elaborate since I spent all of it researching and actually have to get back to work, but I wanted to get a quick 5 star rating posted on this product. DISCLAIMER, I am writing this after the first use and will update later if my experience changes. This Slow Juicer is the bomb, It squeezes 4 cups of Pineapple juice out of one Pineapple, whereas we typically only get 3 cups. Try getting those results for Pineapple in any other juicer. We just sliced the pieces and dropped them in the chute, didn't even have to press down on the plunger. And there was hardly any foam whatsoever, a stark contrast to both of the other machines we have used. Then we put ginger into the plunger which you have to use to process ginger. It did get stuck a few times, but the reverse button offered a quick solution and we were able to churn out some ginger juice that was as pure as any I have seen. The pulp was so dry you could have used it for kindling. I realize that writing a review after juicing two items, a pineapple and ginger, is not a thorough review. But after you have juiced for two years in a small business environment you know what to look for and anticipate. This juicer is very quiet and the wide auger with low RMP does a great job of giving us the most juice and therefore bang for our buck. So make sure to include this juicer in your research and save yourself a whole lot of time. If you find something better, please let me know!
