I just received my Leofoto MP-366C 6section CF Travel Monopod....Wow! What a Monopod it is! I do a lot of sports photography, and I use a Nikon 300mm f/2.8 super prime on my Nikon D850. A couple of years ago, I purchased a highly recommended carbon fiber monopod on Amazon for $99. I don't want to say that it was a bad monopod, it is a very good Monopod. I think under the right conditions, it would be just fine. Unfortunately, with all of my gear on top of it, it just seemed kind of rickety to me. I even kept about a half inch of each section in the tube to help support the weight, and it didn't help. So, I decided to get a bigger stronger monopod for my gear. I had already purchased a large carbon fiber tripod from Leofoto, and that thing is built like a tank, so I figured that I would give their monopod a try....Trust me, I am not disappointed. Leofoto makes a comparable monopod to the one that I purchased before, at the same price as the other one, but I knew that I had to move my game up, so I bought the MP-366C. I am very impressed with the build quality of this monopod...very strong, very sturdy. You can leave the legs in a little when you extend them, but you don't have to. It just switches from stable to very stable. The leg twist locks are very beefy and easy to grip. Quarter turn open, quarter turn close. The leg diameters start at 36mm and go down to 19mm for the bottom leg. My other monopod started at 32mm and ended at 16mm. This monopod also goes up to 65"...I am 6 feet tall, so this is a good thing. Also, if I am shooting a lot of things over my head (like an airshow) it makes it a lot easier to get "under the camera". A nice touch on this monopod is that there is a set screw on the base, so if you mount a ball head , or in my case a Wimberly MH-100 gimbal, you can raise the set screw so the ball head, or gimbal will not come unscrewed and fall off. Yes, this monopod weighs a little more than my other monopod, and folded up, it is a little longer, but, my gear is a little heavier and my lenses are a little longer, so I am willing to deal with the difference. The carry case is very nice, and seems well built (I will probably never use it, but in case I ever do, I won't be afraid to take it out into the world).The cons: The foam rubber grip on the monopod is rather thin. I would not expect it to cushion my shoulder if I carried my camera that way. I think it is more for a temperature thing...Your hand won't get burned in the summer, or freeze in the winter. I purchased a monopod pad when I bought my other monopod, and I will just switch it over to this one. The other thing is that it does not come with a metal spike. The rubber foot that comes with it works very well in most situations. I did contact the seller about this (let me tell you, their service department is very very good), and they took very good care in solving this issue with me.This is a very good monopod, and I didn't compare this to another companies monopod that sells for $350( (a) because I do not have one to compare this to. (b) I just can't see spending that much on a monopod...that is why I bought my tripod from this company). Oh, by the way, I am not affiliated in any way with Leofoto. I purchased all of my gear from them with my own money, and am reviewing this item based on my own personal experience. All of these opinions are my own. So if you need a good sturdy monopod, that works great, don't buy the $99 one, spend the extra $27 and buy this one. You will be glad that you did. You spent good money on your camera and lenses, do you want to trust it on a monopod that is just okay?

Wow! This is an amazing monopod! Sturdy, easy to use and holds very heavy camera gear. I will keep buying from Lefoto in the future. Excellent product.

I broke my aluminum monopod sliding down an embankment and figured I needed something a bit more rugged. This is solid. I don't know (and don't want to know) what it would take to damage this thing....Well, that last sentence got me curious. Here's what a quick Google search brought up:"Carbon fiber is five-times stronger than steel and twice as stiff. Though carbon fiber is stronger and stiffer than steel, it is lighter than steel; making it the ideal manufacturing material for many parts."And: "Carbon fiber is very strong and almost unbreakable."So now I'm thinking that this monopod actually could work as a hiking stick. Nice. I was going to baby it like seemingly everything else having to do with photography.The sections slide into each other flawlessly. There's zero wobble. The locking mechanisms hardly require any force. Be aware, though, that the large diameter makes this model one for people with big hands, in my estimation.The only little hiccup was not receiving the spike foot. It seems that that Leofoto is not including those anymore per the picture. However, customer service was phenomenal in making good. Thanks guys. I am indeed a happy camper.

This monopod is well done, I really like it when I walk around in the parks carry on my Sony mirrorless camera and Sony 200-600mm.

Been wanting to get this for a while thanks to the video by hudson reviews and wow so glad I finally did. This a beautiful and well-made monopod. Amazing price for carbon fiber. Beefy yet lightweight. Folds down to 16" without the head so its great for travel. I also got the leofoto VH-10S to go along and that is just excellent as well. Very well thought out. Even the bag that comes with it is perfect! not an afterthought or something cheap that you put away but you want to use it. The one thing that I don't like is the spike foot is a separate piece so if you want to use it you have to have it with you and unscrew the rubber foot and screw that in.

I bought this (and the leophoto vh10-s two way tilt head for use with my Sony 200-600 5.6-6.3 and A7riii. I replaced the original Sony footplate with the Wimberley AP620 Arca Footplate, and am glad I did. It is a more solid footplate compatible with the arca receiver on the monopod (and other tripods). this is a sturdy and lightweight set up that is makes this camera/ lens combo much easier to use in the field for sports, wildlife, etc.

Light weight, compact , no only great for steadying my camera, it was a great walking stick up to Grinnell glacier! Climbing 2,000 feet in 5 1/2 hours and back down. We were on the trails for 11 hrs. The foot came loose a couple of times, but I think that’s to be expected since it’s not designed to be walking stick, but it did great!
