Q: Can you use alcad paints with just an adhesive promotor?

You really want a gloss black finish before spraying the metallic top coat. A promoter is fine prior to your black base. You coukd put the alcad metallic directly over your promotor, but you wont get the advertised finish. Most likely a dull and lighter finish
