How to set up with IPad Air 2 is very easy after all!
I do not have hardwired computer at home. IPad Air 2 and IPhone, Cox wifi, those are all I have. I use mostly wifi at home and Ipad data picks up if I am traveling. I bought this printer so that I could print out from IPad and IPhone directly. I tried get help from HP Printer and it did not go nowhere after 2 hours of repeated set up process. It was frustrating! She was pretty new at this and was trying to set it up so that I had to sign up for the support program. After 2 hours, she said she would call me back in an hour so that we could start again after she does some more research. I got off the phone and figured out myself. How to set up: You only need this printer and the power cord. You do not even need the USB/Ethernet cable or the software disk. What you need: Wifi Modem/routerSteps.: Step 1. After powering up the printer, use screen panel to set up. OK - Set up mode -network set up-wireless menu- wifi protected set up-push button-screen will tell you to push WPS button on the router. Mine was on the top of the modem/router. You remain pushing the button until the printer is hooked up to the wifi.Step 2. Make certain your Ipad is connected to your wifi ( go to settings - wifi address is same as your home wifi, NOT DATA)Step3. Go to the page you want to print. Click the symbol ( square with arrow sign) and click print.HP support lady called me back in an hour and my printer was already began printing. She asked me how I did it so I had to explain her.She had been trying to connect to Wifi direct. It does not work for what I am trying to do with what I have -Ipad and printer only.Basic: connect your printer to your wifi wireless, connect you Ipad to your same wifi wireless, then it will print! I am thrilled!!!

Painless setup for wireless printing using Windows 10 laptop
I’ve only had the printer for 24 hours, but it has worked flawlessly so far. I set it up for wireless connectivity using an old HP laptop that now runs Windows 10.I did not use the included setup CD since its files were at least a year older than the setup file and firmware that can be downloaded from the HP support website. I ran the initial setup from my laptop, and that process did use the included USB cable to pass settings to the printer. I then downloaded and installed the latest firmware for the printer.Everything has worked exactly as expected from that point on. I’ve also added the printer on a Windows 7 laptop (wireless) and printed on the first try, ditto for a Windows 10 desktop (cabled to wireless router), as well as from my iPhone using AirPrint. However, with the iPhone you need to be careful which app you print from. Basically, the app must use letter size paper by default, since I haven’t found any apps where paper size can be changed. The only item on my wish list for this printer is that it would be a little quieter. It’s not excessively noisy (the main noise is the fan at the start of each print job). Its level of noise is comparable to other laser printers, but a little quieter would be better. Also, it would be nice to be able to turn off or dim the power and wireless lights. They could be a bit bright in a one room apartment or dorm room. In that case, the printer might need to go into a closet.

AVOID this printer
What a waste of time! Worthless instructions and ever worse customer support. I was somehow able to connect this printer to my iMac with a USB connection. When it wouldn't set up a wireless connection, I tried hooking it up to a PC, but couldn't manage that even through USB. It could not find a wireless connection despite numerous attempts, moving it next to the router, updating the firmware, etc. Then, adding insult to injury, the HP support site would not provide any phone numbers for support. I was forced instead to chat -- and exactly two hours of that produced absolutely nothing. Of course, it took forever because he was obviously managing several chats at the same time, had not bothered to read the information I had previously submitted online, and was generally not all that familiar with the product. I have read lots of reviews noting how incompetent and frustrating HP's customer support has become. As I read the reviews for various printers, it appears that recent HP printers often have problems with wireless connections. Not sure what is wrong. These machines are advertised as easy to set up, very convenient to use. Not my recent experience. They used to make great printers, but I guess the entire company has gone downhill. I recommend that you AVOID this printer and be very careful with any HP product.

Small but Power Printer Packed with Functionality
I bought this printer to replace an old HP 2100TN printer that I bought around 13-14 years ago. I know people have had mixed experienced with HP these days, reading through the comments for this printer proved no different. Some good, some bad. But HP has always been good to me, so we decided to give this one a try.First impressions: Much smaller form factor than I anticipated. Compared to our old beast this one if much more efficiently sized. My wife could easily pick this up if needed, the old printer, not a chance in hell. I have this printer setup using a wired connection, setting the IP information was straight forward with the LCD display.Update: I really enjoy being able to print to this printer directly from my iPhone. I never thought I would use this functionality but I've had several PDF's and emails that I printed directly. Saved me some time.I would recommend downloading the latest firmware from HP and updating. I believe you can do this from the printer's web interface, I chose to do it directly from HP and running the installer from my PC. I had no problems installing the printer from PC or MAC.Being able to print on both sides of the paper is something I am finding myself using more than I ever thought. So far I had not had any jams or other issues. I would definitely recommend.
