What an excellent game,Firstly we are a family of 3 marvel fans two 30 somethings and a 4yr old.We have bought a few marvel board games and found them hard to understand at first but this game is different.I watched one video of a couple playing it online and after 20mins of that knew exactly how to play and what my strategy would be.We both really enjoyed how easy it is to play and the ease of the set up (it's hard to play the same strategy every game with a 4yr old girl demanding you get a spiderman every time!)The game took around 20mins and is fast paced enough to not get stale.The cards feel good and high quality and the infinity stones (poker chips) are sold, weighted and also have a high quality.If you are looking for a family game I would stop at this one and just get it.EXCELSIOR!UPDATE, the 4yr old is now 7 and can fully play on her own and knows the rules and can win with no help from an adult. I know it says 10plus but they can pick it up younger.

This is a simple game with plenty of depth & different routes to victory. You can load up on the cheap level 1 cards to stock up to gain points later in the game or try to earn higher level point-scoring cards early on but with fewer cards. Scales well for couples & 3 & 4 players.Also, I prefer the new design of the cards to the original. So, excellent purchase for me.

We love this game! The game takes about 30 minutes to play, which is perfect for maintaining interest. It is a game of luck and strategy. Our grandchildren (aged 9 to 11) can play - and win - so it can be enjoyed by the whole family. It is easy to play but once you have played it a few times, you begin to develop diabolical strategies to beat your opponents. Beware, as it can become addictive and it can leave you seething with resentment when your opponent snatches victory just as you thought you had it in the bag!

This is a fantastic family game which requires strategic thinking but at the same time is a lot of fun. I have played other games like Monopoly and Articulate and this is not far off one of my favourite board games. There are a few rules but once you get the hang of it the fun is endless. If you like Marvel then that is an added bonus. The quality of the tokens and cards is also really good. The only downside to this game is that it is a maximum of 4 players but even then it does not take long for one game.

This game is excellent! I had an amazon voucher for my birthday recently so decided to buy a new board game. I’ve a few on my wish list, but wanted something that would be good for two players and saw this mentioned a few places online as being a good option, so thought I’d get it and see. I am so glad I did!When the game arrived, my husband read the blurb on the box, and said it sounded really boring, so I was worried it wouldn’t be enjoyed. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Splendor is a simple enough game, you get gem tokens and buy cards, thereby increasing your number of gems to buy more cards and gaining prestige. It doesn’t sound all that thrilling, but there is something so fun and enjoyable about the game, you just find yourself wanting to play again and again!I agree with some reviews that the end point of 15 points can feel a bit like stopping when you’re just getting started. We’ve tried ignoring that and playing until all the cards are gone and counting total points, or picking a higher number “end point” eg 25 instead. So depending on what you fancy you can play things a little differently. We’ve also tried dealing out a couple of the low level cards at the start as well, when playing with our children, which helps to get the game going a bit more quickly.Overall I can’t recommend this game enough, it’s so much fun, and really reasonably priced. Buy it, you won’t regret it!

This is my preferred version of Splendor simply because the marvel theme makes the game more appealing to non-gamers.The game itself is of excellent quality. The weighted infinity stone chips feel great, and the cards and packaging are all top classAs far as changes to the base game go, this stays true to the original with a few small tweaks, the new victory conditions mean that you need at least one hero (or villain) from each colour, as well as at least one level three character. This makes the game a bit more structured and allows for a few more strategic options by blocking players from buying that last colour they need. The avengers Tile acts like a “longest road” in CATAN that is worth 3 points. However these rules can be completely ignored if you want the original experience.If you own the original there is no need to buy this version, but if you are new to Splendor the familiar faces will only enhance your enjoyment of this engaging engine building game

Great game. Original may be better suited for non-Marvel fans just for colour clarity of the tokens. Other than that this is the classic Splendor game that we love playing as a family. Nice game length of around 20-30minutes.

This is a wonderfully fun game. We really enjoy playing this with friends.
